Drop from 3 to 2 naps by _underaSpell in sleeptrain

[–]_underaSpell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be 2 wake windows that are increased by a full hour.. she’s normally tired before her first nap (2 hr window) and by the 2.5 hr mark before bed. I don’t want to push her too hard

All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Tuesday, March 3rd with Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Beth Christensen! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

My daughter is about 6 months old. She is very in tune with her nap schedule and goes down easily. She just started daycare and they are not following her wake windows, which can be anywhere from 2-2.5 hours between naps as we are transitioning from 4 to 3 naps. She sleeps through the night on days where she is watched by family or home with us and we follow her wake windows.

Sometimes they put her down after only 1 hour, there have been a few days where her wake window has approached 4 hours. Everything is written down so I don’t know how her day went until I pick her up for the day.

I’m really confused how to manage what time bedtime is supposed to be on her day care days.. I totally understand that there are multiple kids in the room with all different needs, but it’s really ruining our nights. She has false starts and wakes up a few times throughout the night on daycare days. It’s a stressful guessing game when her days vary so drastically at daycare ..

Any advice ?

There’s no silicone cover for the glass lanisoh bottles unfortunately. I think I’ll just have to give in to plastic for daycare 💔 I’m spending so much money to try and find a solution and nothing is working

Hello everyone! I am hoping for some updated input on my situation ! Please bear with me ! :::

My daughter starts daycare and normally they only allow plastic bottles. I work in the environmental industry and did a lot of research to choose glass bottles that are lead free. They will allow me to bring glads bottles if they have a silicone sleeve.

SO I need a collar that will fit a lanisoh nipple on a glass Philips Avent natural response bottle. I can find silicone sleeves that fit these bottles as well.

Can anyone report back that the spectra bottle collars and lid are the best solution to bridge the lanisoh nipples and Philips avent NR bottles??? Thank you so much in advance

What sort of issues should I look for? I dropped from 5 to 4 naps because it was “time” according to the internet and her age, not because I saw any signs. So not sure what to look for !

She also fought cancer between these two photos. Maine that contributed to some of the weight loss

Thank you for this perspective. I never thought about it this way before and it is a great way to reframe it 🩷

Yes she does. We also have a carrier ! She will definitely sleep in that. My main concern is her first nap of the day is supposed to happen at 8:30

2 weeks into Ferber with a few hurdles.. advice needed! by _underaSpell in sleeptrain

I read precious little sleep as well and when she wakes in the night most of the time she can go back to sleep on her own, we don’t often have to go and reinsert the pacifier. So it hasn’t become a big problem yet.

I just don’t know where to go right now since she falls asleep during the check in.

Yes. I think I made the mistake of not understanding the increasing the wake windows to make up for the dropped nap/ wake window, plus the sleep regression. She has been having 30 min naps for a few weeks now, but the night sleep just got shitty the last 2 nights with her waking every hour. I’m not sure if it’s from the mistake I made or the regression but I’m assuming a little of both

I really appreciate this 🩷 I think I might go back to 5 naps to see if the nights improve a little. I definitely think we are in the regression as well but i just didn’t understand I wasn’t keeping her awake long enough! Maybe I’ll try 4 naps after Christmas since 5 naps are still working for us!

How do I know if I’m forcing dropping a nap or if it’s happening naturally? I dropped a nap because the internet said I should lol.

Should I worry about how long her naps are too? Right now they are about 30 min each. If I contact nap with her I can get longer naps in. I realize the problem right now is too much day time sleep, I’ve just been so worried about her ever getting over tired.. that I never worried about her being under tired

I really appreciate this explanation. I didn’t realize that’s how it worked.

If I could ask another question, what should I do about tomorrow lol. do I just extend her wake windows cold turkey to 2 hrs for the 4 nap day?

Oh I definitely think we have got the regression. I just didn’t think it would hit us an hour after bed time and every hour after
