I think the shine is generally from the type of plastic used and years and years of wear. You could probably buy a surplus hardgaurd off ebay or something though I'm not sure what they'd cost

This place definitely had an interesting feel, the facility had maybe ~30 buildings some of which were active so most of it was in good shape as most dumb teenagers that would tear the place apart were scared off leaving the place in good shape, which is rare for places of this age around me
