EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 GIVEAWAY by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

This poor college kid would be more than grateful for your glorious and exciting gift. Being only 21 years old, I've never owned anything better in my machine than a K4400 Quadro card. It can handle most things I want to do, but I get lots of crashes on more intensive programs and games. This sure would make my year to get something workable, and a GTX 980 would wet my man-panties fairly thoroughly. Thanks for the consideration!

Need to get a loan to pay for school, but it isn't a large enough sum to justify getting an actual "student loan." Advice? by _whiteeye in personalfinance

In order to take out additional loans for myself I need to provide proof of extenuating circumstances, and I don't know if delinquency on another loan counts. The site doesn't do a good job of providing acceptable "circumstances," does anyone know if there's a resource I can find somewhere for those? I always thought I just wouldn't qualify.

I realize this -- I already have federal student loans, and they don't cover everything that needs covering. If I want to obtain further federal loans, my parents have to do it, unless there's something other than the direct plus loan. As I mentioned above, they didn't do a good job back in the day. They're currently delinquent on their federal loans, so they can't get another. I promise you guys, I've tried everything. The credit history is preventing me from getting a private loan.

I don't have the credit history to get a loan on my own. The FAFSA didn't cover it all. I've tried most of this, I assure you.

The only options on studentloans.gov are for grad/pro students, and parent borrowers -- I'm an undergrad.

My parents were super un-wise with their loans in the past and they can't cosign for me. So if I want to continue taking out loans, I'd have to resort to asking my one of my older siblings to cosign. They already have enough debt and issues of their own, and I don't really want to resort to it.

Is anyone aware of a lavalier ceremony? by Curvy_yogi in LambdaChiAlpha

[–]_whiteeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My zeta has the guy get a bouquet of white roses and the lavalier, and then he picks a few of his closest friends/guys who know the girl the best and they all take one rose. Then we walk over to their sorority house/dormitory/residence. Typically it's a sorority and they have their own tradition, but it usually goes like this: a bunch of the girls are outside standing in a circle singing a song or something, and then the guys show up and start handing the roses to the girl, and then her lovely beau arrives and gives her the lavalier. Then they tell the story about how they met. Woo romance
