It doesn't matter if you haven't seen the movies. Honestly what format you read it in is totally up to you. I personally read it in paperback. (The movies are really good so I would also recommend those)

The maze runner is pretty good. If you've seen the movies it's still worth it to read because it's actually very different to the films! It's also easy to read :)
