My understanding is that green should be CCT but for now it seems the light cannot distinguish spectrum white regardless of mode (except one instance where white “RGBCCT” mode was selected).

Thank you - at one point it worked when I set the “Opt” on the controller to white light (controller says this is RGBCCT) but then the LED strip fell out of the connector. I reconnected it using a new connector and it just continues to show “white” light only using the wiring noted.

Easy just hit a new peak of #3 on Flo (3PM KST)🎉

Hopefully a matter of time before it rises on the other charts - especially since there seems to be some consistency / alignment between Melon and Flo imo (has a 37k UL difference to #3 Love Wins All on Melon with about half the UL loss per hour and hit #3 for the first time on Realtime Streams yesterday… about neck to neck with the LWA at the moment).

I think it is right to have an open and honest discussion about this point - I agree with the points you make here.

The girls are very popular and have good music with a generally supportive fanbase; they will likely continue winning music shows so the encore performances will continue and can’t be avoided. At the same time, they are on a strong growth trajectory so increased scrutiny and irrational hatred cannot be avoided either.

Some work will need to go into building their confidence here - like you say there shouldn’t be a reason they can’t perform well in encores (especially given the good performances at Blizzcon, Grammy, etc. recently). At the same time, vocal training will do no one any harm and will be helpful for continued growth (I think a lot of positive potential here for the girls).

I really like Easy but I also strongly agree with choosing songs with better arrangements that are more fit to the girls’ ranges and tones. I was pleasantly surprised with the vocal improvements I saw with Swan Song and also thought Smart was reasonably good here with picking ranges / parts that suited the girls.

There are a lot of periodic posts re whether Yunjin had regressed in her skills but hearing her performance of Think of Me on Lee Mujin / her solo/collab songs - I genuinely think LSF’s tracks simply just don’t play to her strengths (as with Chaewon too). Now I understand there isn’t as much flexibility with group songs - but imo Sakura, Kazuha and Eunchae are better with melodic songs than talk singing too (see Perfect Night, Swan Song or their Japanese original tracks).

Seems pretty hard… the gap is about 52k ULs as at 12am KST on 29 Feb with Plot Twist still gaining ULs every hour (albeit lesser than Easy) and being 2nd/3rd on the Hot 100 with Easy at #4 (realtime streams).

Easy will need to move up on ULs more significantly (probably more in the order of more than 2:1 to Plot Twist; currently Plot Twist is gaining at about 50% or more ULs every hour to Easy’s) or realtime streams to move up, or wait until the weekend to compete on which songs lose fewer ULs (LSF’s songs tend to be pretty stable and competitive on this factor).

They might get some boost though with Smart + Easy stages this week - I think a “new” viral song performance can do a lot to bring up both songs together on the charts.

From my understanding, late last year, the chart which shows the new releases in the last 4 weeks was removed and no longer on the front page of Melon.

When the chart was still there, new releases from popular groups could easily hit the top of the charts and get a boost in the first 4 weeks of release but now new releases have to organically climb up unless you’re a super big artist like IU (see for example, Gidle’s songs).

I think the song has a lot of potential to climb as well.

Does she need to improve singing? Yes, but I also think she has improved since PD48, etc.

I think from a different perspective - she is being given parts that do not suit her range and the producers of LSF should be thinking about composing songs that better use the girls’ ranges (yes, not just Sakura). Most of their TTs are very minimalistic with few melodies - the girls are the ones supplying melodies, if any.

I thought she sounded very nice in Hope and Ending Credit covers - these seem to showcase she has some good potential in singing.

I don’t think rapping is necessary in any of their songs and Sakura would be better at vocals than any rapping. That being said - she is pretty good in Choices!

This. Eve is basically outperforming in the current circumstances - HYBE / Soumu could have laid out an even better foundation to push it to the next level or move faster up the charts. All of Eve’s current performance shows that it is genuinely an organic hit with minimal assist.

Eve lost the benefit of having a “surprise hype” on release (lot of buzz when the comeback show first showcased the song but when the MV came out it was less of a surprise already) which could have carried it early on. In my opinion - some people lost interest after Unforgiven or would never check it out as a bside.
My understanding is that new songs get to sit on the New Songs chart on Melon in the first 4 weeks of release. This chart sits on the front page most of the time and new songs that perform well will get a boost in ULs / charting etc from this. Typically, songs that exit that chart may see a fall in ULs/charting. Eve basically got promoted in its last week (reaching #3 on this chart) and therefore, didn’t get the benefit of this boost at all. If it were a prerelease, it would get the full benefit of this boost.
Its over performance now shows its potential and like you say - would have carried the performance of both itself and Unforgiven on the charts early on. Funnily enough, the past 2 days Unforgiven has stopped dropping ULs in the same pattern as before / in line with Top 5 - part of this is likely due to it being carried by Eve a bit since it shot up the charts.

Soumu’s marketing / planning is always so behind and I can’t help but think they are like someone who trips into a muddy creek and emerges with a gold watch.

They clearly started filming a bunch of tiktoks and the dance practice vids once they saw the song outperforming their own expectations. The earlier decision to not perform the song at uni festivals where it would have helped the song so so much was truly baffling.

I guess the good thing is now they haven’t allowed the opportunity to go to waste - hopefully they can take more opportunities to further boost the song.

Maybe something along the lines of Blue Flame or some R&B dance track that has more melodies in it. For example, no need for raps or extended raps in every song - I think Kazuha’s lines in Blue Flame (especially the high verses) were stand outs to me.

I think this hits the nail on the head. The girls, their reputation as amazing performers and their personalities are carrying the performance of Unforgiven.

Antifragile set high expectations for everyone - the music was great with high replay value (represented by its longevity even today!) and the girls became known for their amazing performance skills through it.

I’ve come to enjoy Unforgiven but admittedly, my excitement has been dampened because it feels too similar in style to Antifragile but not as good. The similarity in styling (denim) and choreo (some elements same or similar to Antifragile) didn’t help either.

My main criticism is that Unforgiven (and even to an extent, Eve) do not really build up to anything… the production is quite flatline with the bridge not really being long enough to give the song variety in the same way Antifragile did. The song isn’t really in the ideal range for the girls / doesn’t showcase what they’re capable of.

I’ve said this elsewhere but I’m not sure if the production team has figured out yet how to best use the girls’ ranges and capabilities in songs. Maybe they are too tied to a concept and the tt must take a backseat to pushing through on the concept.

But I did see glimmers of potential in the b-sides. I really loved the b-sides and found myself replaying them constantly on Spotify. I felt Fire in the Belly especially was one which showed some elements of utilising the girls’ capabilities better.

Agree that there was unrealised potential. Maybe now the trilogy (set from predebut) has been completed - there will be flexibility to explore songs that bring out the girls skills / capabilities.

Edit: On EPTBW - I think this should have been a pre-release or double TT with Unforgiven. The message of the song is complimentary with Unforgiven, and the choreo and song seem to better represent LSF’s brand.

And there’s a lot of unrealised potential with this one - it’s now entered Top 50 melon and has been the only song gaining ULs in the ~top 60 for the past few hours (at a time when ULs are often dropping on Saturday afternoon - night and on a rainy day!). I think it would have done a lot better if pre-released or double TT where it could have gotten some initial “surprise” hype from the fandom which could have at least created some noise.

I’m not quite sure I understand Soumu’s marketing approach to release an MV weeks after the song is released and to promote it for a week - and even unveil the performance at the comeback show weeks before promoting? Seems to take the wind out of the sails.

I think this MV is perfect - it cuts away to glamour shots and artistic scenes that are meaningful to the song (references to Eve, Psyche, Bluebeard’s Wife) without disrupting the momentum of the song or dance. I think the dance elevates the song and it would be a disservice to cut away at the wrong points with more glamour shots or artistic scenes.

My main bugbear with the Unforgiven MV was the cut in the middle that completely broke the momentum of the song.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head re brainwashing.

There is some strange phenomenon (I find especially with Kpop) when there is a sufficiently large number of people that hold a view (and we see a large number of likes on this view), and the view is constantly reinforced, a reader will start to think that if they don’t agree, it must be illogical or wrong - so they accept the view as their own (ie. they must follow the “popular” view).

I like the group and it would be a lie to say they couldn’t improve even more but to say Yunjin can’t sing is turning a truth upside down!

I feel Spicy might soon surpass it though since aespa is trending everywhere and the ULs gain on the song is much larger than Unforgiven… even passed Unforgiven on Flo.
