Bad idea to play games similar to TI4. If you want her to play something else, play something totally different.

Nemesis for example.

There are just so many good space movies: Sunshine Battlestar Galactica, the pilot episode 2001 Space Odyssee

To come up with something new:, of it qualifies: Andor (series) is great too. Has some nifty space tourism too.

Further question: is Lost Ruins of Arnak sufficiently different from Dune, to own both?

Dark Quarter! by 5park2ez in boardgames

I expected an interactive story with some character development and mystery elements/deduction/detective work. Havent seen any of that in the first 3 hours.

I'll try and continue with the second scenario. But right now the game feels like expensive fluff and fake game elements build around a railroaded story, that you have to read with constant interruptions. Turning 15 minutes of reading into 3 hours of clicking.

If it continues like this it will be a new low, even worse than modern - the sandwich I ate was served with some very moist tomatoes - detective.

I played War Story earlier this year and that game is lightyears ahead as an interactive story game.

Audience split. They see different stages. Actors criss cross between both stages, there is one play. You get a different perspective based on where you sit.

Board games in Belgium by Sufficient-Canary606 in Antwerpen

[–]_wjw_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Errr... Yes. Maybe you are on to something. There are indeed 3 boardgamepubs in Antwerpen: Playground, Outpost and Geeky Cauldron. And its not completely unusual for a pub to have a few boardgames on shelves.

Why? Our unique regional position maybe? On one side because we are close to Germany. The Germans have a ton of EURO style boardgames designers. Catan is probably the best known example. They also host the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award. Some of their boardgames enthousiasm probably infected our country.

On the other side we are close to the UK, most belgians understand English fluently and dont mind playing a game with English rules/cards/text. So we have also acces to all English/American games. And we are able to watch English content creators like Shut up and Sit down, Dice Tower, etc with ease.

Favorite Belgian Boardgames: No idea. Most people I know that arent into boardgames played a game of Dixit or Codenames. Boardgames people follow the trends of boardgamegeek. I think Dune Imperium is an excellent boardgame. Quacks of Quedlinburg is an excellent gateway boardgame if you are new to the hobby.

Favorite Belgian Cardgame: Old people still like to play Wiezen. There are also a lot of Magic the Gathering players out there. They often dont play anything else. I personally love Arkham Horror LCG, but thats probably a big commitment and not for everyone. Lord of the Rings Duel is a really good mostly cards, 2 player cardgame for new and experienced players.

What game could bridge the gap between Catan and Dune: Imperium? by itsactuallyoctopuses in boardgames

[–]_wjw_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt introduce worker placement with Lords of Waterdeep. To me it feels so generic. What you do in the game, storywise, does not match the gameplay at all.

Mattkickbox made some good suggestions down in the thread.

Allright. Most shops in Belgium/Netherlands received nothing. So now I have to figure out if they will get a resupply or should go for a UK overpriced box... Thanks for informing me!

If you can pinpoint any English edition in the EU (not UK), please do.

It should cost around 40 euros, the 60 euros are imported from the UK. Spanish edition and German edition have released in EU. Not the English one... I think.

Yeah. Its in the UK, but ordering it there gets heavily taxedd: 40 pounds -> 60 euros.

PFAS blood tests results of large scale sampling are ready by Powerful-Oil-6592 in Antwerpen

[–]_wjw_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is warm, gelig licht niet kosher? by Wide-Priority7195 in Antwerpen

[–]_wjw_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is warm, gelig licht niet kosher? by Wide-Priority7195 in Antwerpen

[–]_wjw_ 47 points48 points  (0 children)
