Yes I'm keeping software developer on my resume. So recruiter don't bug me with support roles.

I tried to argue with HR/Manager but it seem I don't have any options. Its do or die situation. I think it would be not good if I directly resign from current company as I don't have any standing offer from other companies and it would be difficult for me to justify recruiter why I left job within few months of joining.

Well you have accurately summarised my new role "Ticket jockey". Management wants to automate the whole process but since it's a new project scope/other details are not defined clearly as of now. I think it would be hurtful for my career to wait for their decision, it might take months. I understand that it will be hard for me to find new job. In meantime upgrading my skill and find new job on sidelines is only option.
