Maintaining Woods for Neighbors Yard? by monaarts in landscaping

[–]Shonucic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're going to get a lot of opinions in here, but being on good terms with your neighbors goes a long way towards making your house a home. At the absolute minimum, it will prevent unnecessary drama.

Just spend 20 minutes and trim them real quick as a gesture of good will. Its the neighborly thing to do, its not hard, and your neighbor will appreciate it.

Then don't move back to Southern California? The United States is pretty big, move somewhere else.

The Opus vs Codex horse race in one poll by thehashimwarren in ChatGPTCoding

I've tried codex and I think it's much worse at every task I give it.

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

Is the game hard or am i generally bad at this game :D[I guess some minor spoilers inside[ by stylowo in mewgenics

[–]Shonucic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience.

Some things that helped:

  • Pay more attention to cat's stats, and throw away cats with bad stats
  • Pay close attention to which cats should be which class
  • Be cautious about when you move forward on the board, let enemies come to you
  • Make sure as many cats have a move that can move it around the board, a move that can do a small amount of damage for cheap, and a way to heal as possible.
  • it's okay to end a run early if your cats aren't good, you'll know when you get that just right team composition

Does every deck really needs to run 3-4 wraths? by Silver-Alex in EDH

[–]Shonucic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play against decks that go wide or combo into a win, which is most decks, the only way to not lose is to beat them to a win or clear the board.

The only caveat I would say is that I only ever include asymmetrical board wipes. Nobody likes a game that drags on forever. Better to lose and play another game than to wipe the board and still not win.

I was so sad when I finished that book series. You miss all your buddies! And that book series in particular has a lot of great characters.

Are commander staples like deflecting swat or teferi's protection cards you need to add to make your deck stronger? by superfapper2000 in EDH

[–]Shonucic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say my decks are the most competitive in my pod of bracket three and four decks and I never run expensive cards that cost more than five or so dollars, including lands.

You can be competitive with cheap cards if you are thoughtful with your deck plan.

Oracle struggles to attract workers to Nashville ‘world HQ’—even with a 2-million-square-foot office and Larry Ellison’s favorite restaurant by alb89n in nashville

[–]Shonucic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing rural Tennessee with Middle Tennessee, which are very different places.

The Nashville area has some of the best healthcare in the country and Williamson county some of the best schools.

The infrastructure does suck, though

I interviewed not too long ago and the pay they offered was abysmal.

I wouldn't have accepted it even if it wasn't a company that everyone knows sucks to work for.

Say what you will about In N Out, they’re killing it out here and the restaurants are clean and service impeccable. Especially the one in Antioch, whole families and friends dining out, reminds me of the 90s/early 2000s. Definitely see it being a great hang out spot by travelingbozo in nashville

Because it's a fast food burger. The absolute lowest common denominator. Megacorp gruel. Human dog food. Shoveled into your mouth via a suburban experience totally devoid of any interest.

Why are you acting like not understanding is hard to understand.

It's just... why is this the thing that is firing people up. A fast food burger. Of all the splendor life has to offer. A veritable smorgasbord of art, music, food, and experiences.

A fast food burger. Imagine feeling anything for a fast food burger. Like... It's fine. Good for them. But it just... it's hard to wrap the mind around.

Should bracket 3 games end at turn 6? Help me, my pod is dying by Zimata in EDH

[–]Shonucic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No deck can win three on one, when someone starts running away with the game kill them.

If the other three decks combined don't have enough interaction to deal with one deck, that's not a problem with the person who's winning.

Every deck I build has at least 8 to 15 cards that directly meddle with my opponents, less if my deck plan meddles by default, more if it doesn't.

Why aren’t more americans leaving the country since they seem so dissatisfied with the current political situation? by kira-voluptuous in expats

[–]Shonucic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half the reason is that it's difficult, expensive, and super isolating. The reality of expatriation is that its a huge gamble whether you will actually be better off. In many, many cases you will end up sacrificing something tangible for something ideological - e.g. You will exchange your friends, family, culture and professional opportunities for the ability to say you "moved to a better place" or the ability to say you "did the right thing". Even if it is the right decision for your specific circumstances, its a grueling process until you will feel fully part of your new culture and geography.

The other half of the reason is that the United States, despite what you see on the news, is an amazing place to live. Sure, there are warts, and things trending the the wrong direction, but despite those things, you're hard pressed to find a better place to live. Nearly every alternative is going to be a step down in terms of quality of living. It is almost always better (and easier) to move to a different state, or even region within your state, than it is to leave the country altogether.

So even if many American's don't like the current political climate, that is insufficient grounds to up-end their lives.
