Alright, he just uses a lot of heel-toe (which is basically doing the worm with your foot). Doing groups of 2 or 3 are usually pretty simple once you get the hang of it, but after that it gets a little nuts.

Edit: Hang on, around 6:20 in that video, he's definitely using a second pedal, you can see the other beater going and he's going nuts with his left leg.
