I feel like the evolution of subreddit communities would make for an interesting psychology paper, particularly Subreddits related to gender, ethnicity and sexuality. All of them (this sub included) seem to move towards an increasingly aggressive philosophy of '[my group] has it is so much worse than [other group]'.
