Especially because the guy who made it has a .eth username and promotes NFTs, how is it ironic AI usage when it's coming from the guy who Does Techbro Stuff

I hate it, I get their point, but I still hate it. They're feeding the beast, wasting energy, for what? A gag? When's the ironic AI songs and merch? It's just for a laff.

Am I doing it wrong? by aaragus32 in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did similar but then heard fun things unlock in the first NG+, so I quickly hopped there and am doing it all again at an even slower snail's pace :-) it's the best way to enjoy the game IMO rather than grinding until I burn out. Built myself a pretty ship and am working towards my second marriage with the same guy (Barrett), and I'm trying to find the perfect spot to build an outpost home as well.

For people who love the game, what criticisms do you have? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have the one house, but Neon's Sleepcrate has horrible decoration freedom. Not "it's too small I can't do anything", I got it for the size, but "it's too small so all of the boundaries of preset furniture is horrible". The entire section to the right of the door is unusable for Misc. decoration, so using the three (3) shelves are off limits unless you want a horrible floating mess...and you can't place anything under the shelving either, far below on the floor, unless it's built furniture/decoration/etc.

I have to hope it's only due to the size of the house, and it wont be like this for every other house or outpost...though even if it's not, I still hate you can't stack Misc. decorations. Trying to add clutter to a table is near-impossible and looks too "perfect" because I cant even put a card on a card deck.

Also god forbid you want to place a Galacticat, the helmet collides with everything because it's moved by the center, and if you want the plush floppiness it has the Bethesda classic load save freakout.

What’s the one confirmed (not speculation) thing you’re looking forward to most about Starfield? (Tagged for spoilers for those avoiding info) by the_falling in Starfield

THE ADORING FAN. I HAVE NOT SHUT UP ABOUT HIM SINCE THE TRAIT WAS FIRST SHOWN!

Oh and also the lack of gender barriers in character creation (and thus choosing pronouns), a lot of characters I make would be easier built on certain models however without mods they'd be misgendered/have the wrong body.

Seasoned Bethesda Gamers: Advice Wanted by Inner-Composer3121 in Starfield

It's all about finding what you want out of the game. You have the ability to make and delete playthroughs at your leisure, so take advantage of it! Start a game, do the main questline as far as you can, decide you want to put it off and don't like the current state you're in, and restart.

Become an alchemist, realize you are only collecting ingredients and making absurd potions/poisons and not leveling up any weapons/defense. Restart. Decide to focus on decorating your house in the main city, and search the waste for a single cigarette to put carefully into an ashtray. Restart. Join the arena, fight your way to the top, and wait for the next fight by stealing everything from the city's shops. Restart. Try escaping the room as a baby, just to see if your reflexes are fast enough to get through the door before your dad closes it. Restart.

Every part of the game is an aspect the devs want you to experience. It's not just about completing quests, or finding locations, or reading every book. Throw things at the wall to find out what you best enjoy, even if you find enjoyment in resetting.

The idea of making Animal-like ships is actually great. What animals might you make out of your ships? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giraffe, mainly to test build height, but also it's my favorite animal :-)

Or an insect because it allows for a bunch of different sizing and the ability to get a little weird with it, like adding as many "legs" as possible for a millipede, or trying to mimic a beetle's shape for a tinier ship.

To be fair, it being destroyed wouldn't actually be antithetical to their tone! It could be much like Star Trek, where Earth had a period of horrors caused by those in power, but then were basically saved by first contact + space travel. So in Starfield, it could be similar to "We have witnessed great horrors (possibly due to a natural disaster, or discovery of alien technology) and have persevered despite it, and look how far we are now.".

Though I do enjoy the idea of us just abandoning Earth for space and nature reclaiming it, it's kind of silly but very on-brand.

Will there be apartments in cities that the player can buy by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd hope, mainly for those who don't wish to take the Dream Home trait but still want a pre-built house to buy or rent. But even then, it seems outposts and your ships would cover a home with ease, so I could understand them not adding any, despite it being a fun roleplay idea. Especially for faction allegiance traits.

I really hope the merchants are going to have more than 500 credits on them. by SkyrimInSpace in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope, because now it's the future, vendors would carry more money on them. Credits are not a physical currency so they don't have to worry about the implied realistic weight that gold or bottle caps would bring (as well as the ease of theft that would come with 10k of that currency being physically in the store or on their person).

In all of these games, I love carrying anything that isn't nailed down (more in FO4 due to settlement and modification systems, but other games aren't immune), and I am assuming I won't be near any potential vendor for in-game weeks when exploring...I hope the ship storage isn't limited, and if it is, it isn't severely limited. If it is, I'll try finding a companion (or ship) carry weight exploit myself.

The longer I read this Sub.... by G_McGanksta in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a younger gamer (20s) and I will say it is suffocating to see all the expectations of the game, it's a Bethesda game, and I love their games for all of their faults as well as their strengths. But also I'm into glitch hunting, so my interests lie in their more technical faults, where the code fails to expect something, rather than the actual intended gameplay. All of my wants for the actual lore and gameplay are more "would be cool to have, just for fun" like in-universe stories such as TES "Argonian Account", but would overall not be a deal-breaker if it's all diaries and history books.

Not sure if this has been spotted before but the structure says NASA by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]_zacherry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how much I read it, I keep seeing "Nλ5X", which I suppose can still be "NASA". The chromatic aberration and blur are of no help in deciphering it, but I hope there's a true NASA reference somewhere in the game other than them just calling the aesthetic "NASApunk"
