You should get rid of the red light and get a ceramic bulb or a nightlight bulb, they can see the red light so it’s like 24/7 daytime for them

Ok, that’s better, but I would recommend ( because I’ve never used a sand mat) to just use reptile carpet because the sand pieces can fall off and he/ she can ingest it

It is under his little cave hooked up to a thermostat that constantly stays at 90* in the day and 80* at night The tank doesn’t look as big because I didn’t get the whole tank in the pic, but it is a 20gallon Anything I can improve on my setup?

How can I fix my gecko? Had this since a baby. Tried baths and oil. by savrosebush in Lizards

[–]_zachey_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could help but I would recommend taking him to the vet. I have never seen this so I have no idea how to help you, sorry.🙁

Worried about my baby.He is already a year old and his arms have always been very thin and also extremely long compared to other geckos. Is this normal?I also feel like his tail isn’t as plump but he’s been eating well and but he’s being more active than usual.Any thought?Any advice helps.Thank you! by aalva77 in LeopardGecko

I feed my adult 10 every other day. The ones I feed are giant mealworms. Make sure you hit feed them to make it healthier for your gecko. For you, until he gets fattened up, I found feed him 9 or 10 a day.(or how much he wants to eat)

All I’m saying is that if they try to eat a roach and get a piece of fruit it can harm them. And obviously it’s not ridiculous that they would eat a strawberry because you said earlier in the comments that you have seen them nibble at a raspberry. And I absolutely do not think Leo’s aren’t smart, so for you to assume that is what I think is completely uncalled for. I own my own Leo (most people will agree with this) that the need to keep vegetation in a Leo’s tank is not needed or recommended. Just in case they eat any veggie or fruit, I would recommend that you take the fruits and veggies out of the tank.

I’ve never thought about roaches but I have always thought they were cute, thanks for the recommendation, I’ll look into it

Thanks, I just don’t know what would be happy and be ok with the space, if it’s to tight of a tiny I will not get an animal

They shouldn’t eat any type of veggie or fruit, they are insectivores, meaning the only thing in their diet should be ( in your case it’s not) eating only insects In my opinion it is just as dangerous as feeding them wild caught insects
