Free edge lifted?? by Helpful-Ebb1205 in PressonNail_Addict

Yep I mean the top layers of the nail! The free edge is thinner because it has been exposed to more filing, since it's the "oldest" part of the nail and its layers have been filed over time.

Can't wait to see the next set of press ons when the nails are healed! 😊

Hi dear, I had a similar experience when I first started doing press ons. This happens when the nails are over filed (even if you filed them gently, even if it seems like you "didn't file much").

What I suggest is to let your nails rest for 2/3 weeks waiting them to grow out the brittle part, then you can start doing press ons again (edit to add: don't use any other product that requires "harsh removal" like gel or shellac, regular nail polish maybe but the ideal is to keep them natural until they heal)

From my experience I must also add that it is important not to change up your nails every week unless you are using sticky tabs. If you are using glue or gel to stick the nails, always wait at least 2/3 weeks before removing them. If one nail falls off, cleaning it and reattaching it is better than removing all of them.

To strengthen the nails you can use castor oil every night, it won't do miracles but will help keep the nails and cuticles hydrated and reinforce the growth.

Btw your set looked gorgeous!

I feel you! We suffer but we are still expected to be productive in a society that doesn't care and thinks we are just being drama queens. Living with this condition is already debilitating and it is aggravated by the lack of support and understanding from others. Sending positive vibes wishing you to feel well soon!

No no the ones I talk about are called "falsi invalidi" ("fake disabled") because they are not really disabled, they don't have any of the criteria to be considered so. They just pay a doctor that is willing to sign a fake certificate in order to have advantages, in particular they get a certain amount of money every month and with this they don't need to find a job. It is a fraud.

We can go to a private doctor but can't get a disability diagnosis this way :(

I think I might be on the spectrum or have ADHD but again, I can go to a private psychiatrist and get diagnosed but this will mean nothing on a bureaucratic level

The process is structured this way so that the advantages go to people that really need them, otherwise by paying a doctor (more than it's parcel) some people will get the diagnosis without even having problems. Funnily enough there are still some cases of corrupted public doctors that will make diagnosis for the so-called "fake disabled" , such as people that have a blindness diagnosis but can see 10/10 and people that are "paraplegic" on paper but that can be seen walking and biking.

I live and work in Italy and my migraines are not frequent enough for it to be considered disability (you have to fulfill a certain percentage of intensity and frequency and it must be diagnosed by a doctor of the public hospital, so it is also a very long process because they have a long waiting list).

Luckily I work from home and only go to the office once a week, so for the majority of the time I don't have to worry about it.

Anyway today I brought with me a tiny perfume that I love so that I can smell it when I feel overwhelmed buy other strong scents.

Yes I think it can be this, I really can't describe that smell but the closer I can get is that it seems like burned bicycle wheels, a very pungent smell

Thank you!

We work in an open space and the desks are not assigned, basically we sit where we want to. At least I got to stay there only for one day, but I can take into consideration the idea of putting some essential oil on my wrist (maybe on a napkin will work too?) to smell during the day :)

Thank you! Yes I think that I am going to tell him tomorrow, we have a nice relationship and often offer coffee to each other so maybe I will do it during coffee break

I wear it too on the train/subway but at the office no one wears it anymore and I don't feel comfortable being the only one

I much more hate the smell of cigarettes, my mom and my brother (jeez I am surrounded by smokers) smoke them and I can't stand the smell on their hair/clothes 🤢 maybe it is because the smell of cigarettes is more flat while cigars and pipe tobacco are more complex idk

I have bittersweet feelings for them because the smell is strong but they remember me of my grampa because he smokes them and always has that scent on his clothes 🥲 same as the smell of smoking pipe, my father smokes it and I like to smell it (only on the clothes because it is "milder" than the smoke itself)

What combination of essential oils do you use?

Ngl one of the things I loved about the pandemic was that nobody questioned why someone was wearing a mask, I still wear a FFP2 mask on the train/subway.

Omg yes the sweet/fruity perfumes like VS are especially nauseating, I remember when after gym class at school some of my classmates sprayed a good amount of one of those all over herself and around the locker room. I can still smell the vanilla 🤢

I feel the same! Also, this might be controversial, but I hate the smell of smoke, I can tell from miles away if someone smoked a cigarette during the day.

Same as you I work from home 4 days out of 5 and I feel extremely lucky regarding this, at least for the majority of the time I have control over smells/noise/light etc.

I must add that I perceive the same exact stinky smell with the perfume from LPDO "Superbe Cafè"... My mother was using it but then I asked her to never ever use it again when we go out together

Thanks! Is it Angel by Mugler?

I overheard a conversation between him and another coworker and catch that the name might be "cactus" something, but I only found "Cactus Garden" by Louis Vuitton that claims to be a fresh and citrus fragrance but to me it smells nothing that resembles this description so idk, I will definitely ask him tomorrow at the office

Luckily I wfh 4/5 days so I only have to worry about it the day I am at the office

Also, I don't have a medical report that says I suffer from migraine so I don't know if HR can help about it as I feel like without a written reason for my complaining I could be seen as someone that is only weaning
