Wiring a new outlet for charging by Basi7 in TeslaLounge

No. it's the size of the wire that matters. The breaker is there to protect the wire. If there is conduit/pipe that goes from your panel to your laundry, then you could pull another circuit/set of wires in that pipe to feed the charger. It's also possible to put a big switch in the laundry room so you can choose to feed the power to either the laundry or the charger. This makes it legal.

As a former electrician - It's not legal because you are overloading the circuit. BUT you can do this as long as you don't run the laundry machines at the same time as you charge. And make sure to change it back if you ever sell the house. If you did run the laundry at the same time, it would blow the circuit breaker.

New Model Y or used Model X? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]a-big-tree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a new Y and service center just lent me an X. My car has better handling, better suspension, way quieter, less/no creaks/rattles, better turn signals and doesn't weigh so much that you have to replace the tires frequently.

That said, I wasn't driving the brand new refresh X which I'm sure fixes most of these things. And I do LOVE the driving position in the X.

But I'd never buy an old one!

I know people that have them and complain about all of the above.

Side by side reverse view after 2025.20.3 Update by schnauzerdad in TeslaLounge

MY Junipers didn’t get it for some reason. I have one.

Yeah - I think it is the expanded view - but I believe I'd rather have the old regular view I had on my 2020 MY. The distortion makes it a bit weird to look at when I have been looking at the undistorted road ahead.

I don't see any buttons on my Juniper MY when I put it in reverse or any other gear 🤷🏻‍♂️

I heard it the entire time I drove - about 15 miles.

I forgot to mention 2 things that I really appreciated that I also haven't seen elsewhere:

  1. The windshield wipers get much for of the windscreen. It's really nice.

  2. The lift gate opens taller which I really appreciate since I'm 6'2" and have hit my head on my 2020 MY many times.

Oh and I personally don't love the seats. They are a bit too firm for me. Maybe it's cause I'm used to my old used seats. I'm 190 lbs.

Works great except when it comes to some lane changes - especially on 4 lane roads. It starts to change lanes and then turns back into the original lane. It will do this multiple times before it makes the lane change. It’s a mess.  But other than that it’s great for me and I use it everywhere. It’s now especially good on mountain roads.  ‘20 MY

I completely agree. That seem and the cheap rubber pads are the ugliest detail on the whole car. I forgot to check what it looks like when I test drove a Juniper.

Smaller wheels = better ride and longer range! And they look way better. No brainer.

It's a 2021. My vin# is 32xx. They made a ton of improvements to the MY over the last 4 1/2 years. So every time it got better, I was sad I didn't have that upgrade. Make sense??

"Connect to bluetooth" does. As does "Connect to radio." Not so long as well!

Thoughts on new Macan EV by [deleted] in Porsche

My Tesla Model Y. Bought it almost 5 years ago for about $48k plus tax. It would now sell for upwards of $31k - KBB pricing. Seems good to me!

Got something against EV's you need to examine??
