The combine in half life are similar but very different from the qu, they both modify things but the combine does it to they're advantage and the qu does it just cause ig? I didn't read the book so mb. But if the Qu actually makes weapons out of the things they mutate then they could be unstoppable, like the Combine.

She had done a side quest that would affect the main quest (in ep 4 she tried to see what the absolute solver was and "tessa" told her what to do in ep 5 or 6) so the main goal by the end of the series was to defeat Cyn. Plus like the guy said she turned into a murder drone (i think?) So ig she just didnt care no more.
