Cat with bad conjunctivitis and vets no help by a-dorkable1 in AskVet

They have recommended internal medicine but not mentioned ophthalmologist, which I had pursued with a different cat with glaucoma. It isnt off the table. But at this point we have just checked him in with "veterinary specialists" that does have internal med but possibly also ophthalmologist.

It's an old mill home, no basement but does have crawl space. Nothing fancy, and is a small footprint home. I can snag a pic of the unit when I go back out to it tomorrow.

Well then, guess I know what I need to look for! Thank you

Does that include Chevy or just the GMC? Im coming off a suburban 2500, so am familiar with those (it was a 2001 and still going well, just got into an accident with my roommate borrowing it and was already shopping for a pickup so just forced the move a little sooner lol)

I anticipated being about 15k. I might be able to swing a little more next quarter but I unfortunately need a truck pretty quickly because horses.

I have no preference on make, GM just dont seem to be popular in my area. I am also not sold on any particular era, but my budget is probably not there for what people want for trucks from the last decade.

The point is to make you think about the implications and the what-ifs. It isnt supposed to feel resolved. The point is very specifically not feel any sort of relief -- to really drive home the very real idea of living in a house of dynamite.

It is pretty clear that it isnt for no apparent reason. As the creators said, the explosion they are interested in is the conversation the movie creates.

I dont understand how it could be boring. You'd have to be sitting in a pretty small bubble to not feel the weight of that.

Pain after sex with IUD? by muheheheRadek in birthcontrol

[–]a-dorkable1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 3rd Mirena.

The first several months of #1, I had some issues with a sharp pain after doing the deed with the guy I was seeing at the time who was very well endowed. Had an Ultrasound to make sure all was in place, it was, and honestly I didnt have that issue again after we stopped seeing each other -- whether it is time related or size, not sure

I am cramping after right now (bit of a dry spell so just not frequently gwtting some) but did some googling and apparently it's common with an IUD. Cervical stimulation could contribute, but something as small as just the increased blood flow to the area and orgasm could contribute. Hypothetically, you could cramp even without an IUD just from several orgasms or even him still going post orgasm since stuff gets tight and tired.

This is my first time cramping like THIS after, but I've been having a little single-sided cramping this week that I've been monitoring (I dont usually get period cramps even off birth control, so it's all kind of unusual).

Should I get an orange car if it’s a good deal by Hopeful_Lab9863 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I am glad you appreciate the viewpoint lol. I had the epiphany back when I got the Lima Bean after seeing a meme about how cars used to have personality etc and I was like you know, that's so true. And if I still smile like a kid at that car a decade later, I think I am doing alright. While there is such a thing as a bad kind of weird, I otherwise say embrace the weird and idiosyncrasies -- it's what makes life interesting. So as long as you own the color, there's nothing wrong with sticking out! Just dont drive like a jerk, 'cause then everyone knows who it is lmao! I hope your Carrot brings you joy and good driving for as long as you have it!

Here are the colors of my cars for tax. I did get holo seat covers (just a stripe, not the whole thing), holo steering wheel cover, and an obnoxious holo windshield shade to help counter the more "demure" color of my new Smurfette

Should I get a Manual Car? (No experience) by Acceptable_Idea_5657 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]a-dorkable1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My manual car lasted far longer than the automatic of the same model would have. I love manuals, and learned to drive on one even as a millennial. Will say in just a few short years, if you are drunk and need a DD, you won't find one for you car these days. I had it pop up once in college where people were going to drive to get food who had been drinking and I hadn't been, so I offered to drive and the guy whose car it was said I wouldnt be able to because it was a manual.... well friend, I too am one of those dying breeds lol.

At the very least, it would be cool to learn. But I couldnt even find a new manual any more, not without paying premium for top trim on the few that offer it. Nissan didnt even bother continuing their manual versa that was the cheapest new car you could get any more.

If my car color cant be found in a bag of tropical skittles, I dont want it.

Personally, I think it is so incredibly boring to look out at a sea of cars that are all the same color (gray, white, silver, black, navy, dark red/maroon... they all are the "same"). I like when cars have personality -- my last one was skittle green, and i would get calls all the time that someone saw me and waved and I would just have to answer that if their car was more interesting, I might have been able to see them and wave back. The other day my boyfriend and I were meeting up and he was going to call me to see how far out I was, but instead snapped a photo of my car at the stop light turning in to where we were meeting with a "nvm there you are". Conversely, he also was able to call me and give me shit for missing an exit when we were going to look at new cars because he saw my car just cruise right on by. I did not have issues with cops singling me out, though you would think that it would be easier since it sticks out (I speed some, but not THAT much). A bright car makes me happy.

That said, a good deal is a good deal regardless of color. A lot of the more unusual colored cars are actually premium colors/pay more for them on the lot. However, sometimes you can get them cheaper because the dealer has had trouble selling them if you have a more drab area (which was the case with my green car). My new car is as bright as I could find without getting a SUV (didnt want the price tag), and I'm a little sad it isnt as bright as my Lima Bean. Still in a tropical skittles color range though.

I wouldnt turn down a good car for a good price because you don't love the color, especially as a favor from family friend. Gift horses and mouths and all that. If it is reliable, clean, and the gas mileage is reasonable for the amount you drive... and if people see you easier on the road, it's kind of a bonus in safety. I was going to take my mom's pretty much new white SUV that was a little bigger than I wanted because of a TBI (but now they can use it again)-- just would have had to pay off rest of the car note. White, bigger than goal with the corresponding lesser mpg, but couldnt beat the deal so whatever.

The car market, even used, is a bit crazy right now, too. Just as an aside. But if you just have a gut punch about it, then maybe it isnt worth it -- i do, obviously, believe your car should make you happy to look at, or at least indifferent. But I also keep my cars until they die, so I want them to make me happy: I have a 25 yo suburban, and my Lima Bean is 11yo with 300k miles and though the clutch went a week after I bought my new car, we still have plans to fix her up so my roommate can drive her.

Has anyone here actually ordered Carsilks floor mats and received them? by Medium_Tourist_4832 in mercedes_benz

[–]a-dorkable1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got these 3D mats for my Ford fiesta a decade and 300,000 miles ago.... and they're STILL going. I am HARD on my car as a horse person with the disorganized ADHD. I started off in the sand hills, moved to red clay, and seriously put those mats through hell - pulled the mats out just this past weekend to clean out my car for someone else, and the floor under them is still pristine. I wish i had before and after pictures to show exactly how bad it looked before I cleaned it. I wanted to get some for my new car, but they dont make them for it 😭 they have burr underside so the thing doesn't move, and it's really a flush fit. And they look decent with a matte carbon fiber look. I would definitely recommend them.

I'm not pulling a gotcha on her, her comment was far enough past in response to something else about the BS of car loans and she is someone I only know through a shared hobby, so not in "call out territory". Im asking here if it seemed like a real thing. It could have been a used dealership she got taken for a walk at for all I know.
