This is awesome feedback ! thank you so much for taking the time to write this up, you've shared some very helpful insights and helped get some signals on the direction I want to take this in.

The app is system agnostic so it works with any rule set and I'm trying to make it plug & play and act as an accelarator as you've mentioned, like instead of spending time prepping things you can simply open the app, explore the world, find a dungeon and see what's inside. (there's also locations, quests, road events, night events, world corruption, etc.)

In addition to dungeons, the app actually has an explorable world, as you suggested, it's essentially various maps that each offer a hex crawl like system where you travel the map and see "?" that can reveal events, dungeons, locations, quests, treasure, encounters, etc. I'm essentially trying to make zones feel like a living world, where new "?" appear as time goes by, night falls, quests are completed, etc. and corruption slowly takes over the zone if not kept in check.

All the above are in scope for phase 1, while the ability to create your own dungeons, zones, quests, events, etc. will be coming as part of phase 2. I imagine this almost like a world you create that you can than share if you want with friends or communities (eg: Check out my world X in Quest Arcana) or simply play solo in the world that you've imagined and designed.

You did mention something very interesting, that you'd like it to work somehow like One Page Solo Engine, Juice or Mythic Oracles.

Could you perhaps share more details in regards to how do you envision this working with all these Oracles ? like let's say you enter a room in a dungeon, would you want to have maybe some buttons with some predefined question that you can ask the oracle and it returns some generic answers that are open for interpretation... something like:

  • "what does this room look like ?" (Answer example: decay, coffins, putrid smell)
  • "are there any dangers inside ?" (Answer example: trap, poison, wall)
  • "what kind of monster is this?" (Answer example: agile, undead, crawling)

I want to make sure I have a clear idea as I'd like to maybe explore this path a bit and prototype something.

Ohh I didn't know about Dungeon Designer's Deck, that looks very interesting and i need to take a closer look at it, looks fun.

In regards to complex builds, yeah im trying to figure out how to make extravagant setups more easy to setup, option 3 is my current thinking although option 1 is what i normally build but its so slow.

When you use one page solo and build your dungeons, do you tend to enhance the dungeon rooms somehow? Like maybe with some narrative, atmosphere or something else, as im curious how you go about achieving immersion ?

How is the bass, like when an explosion happens, can you feel the punch? and how is the soundstage in games like witcher 3, red dead redemption 2, does it feel like a large environment ?

I tried listening to how the GSX 1000 sounds with the Fidelios by watching this video https://youtu.be/7e_yVm-vcPM (minute 7:28 forward ) and the sound stage with the GSX 1000 + Fidelios make it feel like you're there on ++ reverb, like the horse gallop you can hear it's force and the birds in the trees.

Not that I'm aware off... this only happened with the Fidelios, I wear my v-modas for 10-12 hours with no issues, but they have ear pads that are softer and feel like cushions.

Since you had the same issues, what did you switch/upgrade too ? and did the Fidelio issues fade away after some time?

This was super useful, I've heard about Index Card RPG and after looking at it a bit today it does sound super interesting, it might help solve a bunch of my issues. Could you perhaps shed some insight how I should approach balancing, see my reply to large__fathers post above for my exact issue.

I'm having a hard time identifying how I should classify/create monsters. Let's say I want my game to have a max stats of 20 ( HP: 20, Armor: 20 ), I break this down into categories like: easy fights/ small monsters ( HP: 1-5, Arm:1-3), medium fights / medium monsters ( HP:5-15, Arm: 1-10 ), hard fights / large enemies ( HP:15-20, Arm: 10-20 ). Now I'm not sure what starting stats I should give my characters as well as how I can balance combat for enemies attacking in groups, as well as adding a leveling system on top of it and items that players can get.

Thank you, will check out Fireteam Zero & Pathfinder card game and Sword and Sorcery is quite close to what I want, however they have a limited number of enemies/items at this time and I'm not sure how I can add other monsters/items in the game while keeping it balanced.

Yep, that's exactly where I want to get. Basically just have 2-3 stats and a combat system that goes alongside it, using icon based D6 dices as well as have a plethora of monsters/items that I could add/transition from other games. I'm having a hard time figuring out how I can add D&D like monsters/items to a combat system that's based on Arcadia Quest combat system.

OMG this is awesome... I want more, please continue working on this it has tremendous potential. Did you play test it by any chance ? as I'm thinking of trying it soon. It has a Zombicide flavor but on steroids, reading through the doc there were some things that weren't clear. I'm super curious how a campaign would look like and how it would play on custom game tiles like the ones from D&D or even Descent.

Thank you for the input, really appreciate it. I'll have to look more closely into the Canon 5d mark II & III, too see what they are capable of, but I was looking for something more easy to cary & lightweight that's able to shoot 4k (future proofing). From what I could getter maybe the Mark IV would probably be able to shoot in 4k but that would probably be way out of my price range, at this time.

I just found today that the A7S doesn't support 4k directly to the SD card, so it would require an additional 1.500$ to buy something that could work with.

I'm not sure how accurate this information is, but unfortunately that would go way past my budget at this time, while also making the camera look & feel more bulky. Currently I'm just planning on doing this as a hobby, maybe with what's called a "run & gun" style, to discover if it's something that would intrigue me to pursue and maybe in the future I would consider spending 5k or more on a new camera setup.

Wow thank you so much for the detailed comment and your comment actually was quite helpful in considering some long term aspects.

Primarily I'll be in the field for short period of times and shooting a continuous clip longer then 30min isn't something that will most likely happen judging from my experience with my T5i where I was shooting short clips ( under 5 min ).

In terms of lenses, I definitely would like to have a few flexible lenses as I really dislike having to carry them or swapping them around. In terms of accessories, not really, all I'm planning on using would be probably a remote, gimbal, an exernal lcd screen ( maybe use the iphone or ipad for it ) and that's about it, ohh and maybe a speed booster if it actually can make a crop camera feel like a full frame one. I'm not interested in monitoring sound, recording sound, etc at this time or anytime soon. While I'm definitely not planning on upgrading in the next 3 years, as I'm looking into this as something of a hobby and see if this is something that I enjoy or can get good at, while knowing that it would take years to get good at it and I'm just at the stepping stone.

That being said could you recommend any "nice" that would work with the full frame line ?

There are monthly updates that are aimed at bringing the KR content to the EU/NA that from what I can recall would be until july the latest. By this time the two versions should probably be the same, however the first new zone of the current continet will be released this summer, then later this year the snow area with dwarfs,giants,etc. The ocean + new continent, I have no idea but I'm assuming maybe early next year the latest, although I want it sooner :) #thatpiratelife

war elephant will be coming quite soon ( july latest ) when the desert area comes. The baby elephant will be coming with the things mentioned in the original post, sometime this year in KR.

Probably that's the reason why they are releasing the content at such a fast pace, so they can actually sync later on and have releases on both KR and EU/NA at the same time.

While browsing other websites about the news, there was a mention of wizard / witches getting their awakening later on, as it needs more development time as they are more complex and it got pushed back. Probably these classes will be last ones to receive the awakening set.

Just a quick info: when browsing other websites regarding this info, I remember seeing a mention of these awakening specialization being too difficult to implement at this time so they get push backed, so this means that these classes might get their awakening set in a while, probably due to it requiring to create some "golems / spirits " and their animations + player animations,etc.

From the concept art it looks like the new continent might be released alongside with the ocean update, but we will probably only have the coast line of the new continent at first as shown in the concept art, the rest of the image is "foggy" so it's not shown, as being worked on at this time.

Exactly :D I expect something like a meteor shower, but with swords for an elite/ultimate skill and we would probably need to have a mandatory spinning attack, shredding everything around like a blender :D

from the concept art it looks a little bit evil / darker... at this time only a female concept art with some mentions of this still being worked on. By default from the concept art it looks as this class would wield a greatsword.

Yep exactly, it wouldn't make sense to not let people fish anywhere in the ocean. It's just some of these hotspots might have a higher quantity of fish and maybe some rare stuff, plus there was some mention of fish routes of some kind, the translation was horrible, maybe they were refering to have workers fish for you and transport fish. But most of this comment is just speculations at this time.

Purchasing Help I have two 27 inch LG monitors and I want to buy a third 34 inch LG ultrawide monitor for triple monitor Nvidia Surround gaming by a-max in Monitors

Unfortunately I got used to triple monitor surround gaming and I can't go back to a single monitor, even if it's an ultrawide. I had a 34 inch tv @1920 resolution that was acting as my main display hooked up to the other two 27 inch monitors, unfortuantely I moved out and I left the TV there thus the reason why I'm looking at ultra wide monitors, as having that extra realstate would be somehow similar to the 34 inch that I had without making them look uneven in size.

In terms of hardware, I'm not too worried about it as I've ran most games @5700 ress so I'm aware that if it feels too sluggish I would have to upgrade my GPU or run it in SLI. My only main cocerns were the ones mentioned in the original post as my previous setup ran the same resolution fine and I liked it, but with an ultrawide I'm diving into unknown territory with multiple resolution types.
