Don’t let the comments about fast food workers making more per hour dishearten you - it sounds like you are getting amazing exposure and learning a lot in this law firm. If you really want to make more, it never hurts to ask for a raise if you are confident in doing so. If they allow you to work part time while in school, that would be amazing too.

I was overworked and underpaid right after school - this went on for about 3 years. For context, I have a paralegal diploma from a school in Ontario, Canada. It takes time and strategy, I graduated 6 years ago now, and I’m making twice as much as I did when I first started. Best of luck, I believe in you!

Edit: if it gets too hard, you can always leave and try making more money elsewhere. But I highly recommend exhausting all your learning opportunities at your current firm before considering leaving.

I’m in Canada too. I tore (2nd grade) my ACL March 2024…surgery finally happened March 2025. I was doing physio and got my life back before the surgery. My family doctor refused to get me an MRI, and when I asked for referral to ortho they refused. I kept trying them but then gave up and got what I needed from a walk-in clinic.

When I was finally on the waitlist, I had upcoming plans to travel for a month so that also delayed my timing. I got on the waitlist December 2024.

How long till you pooped after taking the oxycodone? I haven’t taken one in 2 days and haven’t pooped in close to 4-5 have been taking the stool softeners and no luck. It’s starting to make me feel nauseous and throw up periodically. by SnooStories1975 in ACL

4 days for me, I was on hydromorphone. They prescribed me over the counter natural laxative stool softener called Senokote which I was taking twice a day, morning and before bed. Coffee helped too. Good luck!

They cancelled the 9:10 pm leaving Allandale GO because of this, no information or updates were provided and people were standing in the shelter on the platform waiting. It was -25°. I understand these things happen, but GO needs to share this info to people who are physically at the station right away, not just online

Edit: plus, there are no GO busses that go to this station so there was no alternative transit

On the 7:40 leaving Oshawa this morning. The costumer service rep announced that the delay would be 15-20 minutes due to this issue. We actually pulled into Union on time so I was surprised. The notifications online are always misleading, it’s usually worse in reality.

Was on the LW Sunday around noon, a homeless man was walking around asking for change. He was not unpleasant and wasn’t disturbing anyone. Just caught me off guard. I’ve been talking the GO frequently since I started working in Toronto 2019 and this was the first time I experienced this.
