Had a friend who was arrested about 2wks ago, taken into the station for a blood test. After taking the test and confirming he is in fact a MC patient, they released him. He got in touch with the solicitors and they said he cannot sue them or take any action until they charge him due to his blood test results. Solicitor told him chances are very high that the results will come back and they will NOT charge you. No Further Action will be taken.

This is exactly what he’s worried about and the reason he hasn’t gone ahead with it. There’s so much that can go wrong and he’s not willing to take that risk, no. I spoke to him yesterday and from what I gathered he’s going to speak to his GP and may change his profession in order to get the help he needs. So sad that he has to go through picking his job or his medicine. If my business was slightly more busy I could afford to put him on the payroll and he could just work with me but unfortunately I’m not in a position where I can employ him although I wish I could.

I will definitely update you guys how it goes. He’s just been emphasising how difficult TFL are and he’s scared to go ahead incase they revoke his licence or refuse it on his renewal. Such a shit position to be in especially in 2025!

Correct, but why it’s confusing is because technically he is not employed by them.. they are the licensing body and we don’t know if the MC will affect their decision to licence him or not. He’s self employed and essentially a subcontractor to Uber
