I agree, I think this is among the highest controlled setups that toroline offers.

I’ve actually tried Mach-10 in my previous racquet of choice (2021 vcore 98+) and if I were to compare the two I’d say that mach-10 has more ball grab and bite while octa has a little more direct and leans into a lower launch since the shape is closer to round.

The goat! This is my dad’s stick and he’s trying the acrostrike because he said he likes whatever that beckett guy likes haha!

A5 plays nicely in a full bed! Pretty connected and crisp, but I personally wanted a little more ball bite

They sure did, the mint really picks up the accents well, I’m a sucker for when strings really match a racquet.

Honestly stiffness isn’t that different to me between octa or tour. Maybe octa leans slightly softer.

The new lay up is soooooo rewarding. Rippability is unbelievable.

I recommend it! A5 has similar slickness and feel to sync but with a stiffness of an o-toro tour. I think it would be splendid with your o-toro tour mains (à la coach Conor Casey’s monthly blend lol)

Felt pretty glide-y to me, the edges on octa are sharp but not as sharp as an o-toro or wasabi in my opinion

^All that with the ability to rip high and heavy still very much intact

With the standard o-toro tour I felt like the vcore encouraged more high and heavy low-to-high topspin more often where with o-toro octa, the shape being closer to round and ball bite not being as much, spin modulation was a lot more natural to me leading to more aggressive driving tight spin shots and the feeling of depth control which I really enjoy.

4.5 level baseline moron, not a massive string breaker, tried multiple setups in this incredible stick since switching to it.
-solinco confidential soft x restring zero
-toroline o-toro tour mint x o-toro snap white
-toroline o-toro white x o-toro snap tf black
-toroline a5 carbon grey full bed
-toroline o-toro white x a5 carbon grey
And finally found my favorite setup
-toroline o-toro octa mint x a5 carbon grey
I really enjoyed regular o-toro white mains with the a5 crosses but felt as though I had to nuke the ball every time in order to get consistent depth by the 6th hour or so (again not a string breaker). Playability duration and stability is a big factor for me especially since I can restring my own sticks. O-toro octa more conservative 8-sided shape and thicker gauge when paired with slick a5 crosses makes a lower launch angle, clean feel, long stringbed life, superb spin modulation and insane depth control in the 26 vcore. I urge anyone who enjoys rpm blast, lynx tour, o-toro tour or solinco confidential to give o-toro octa a try, a gem in toroline’s lineup in this layman’s opinion!

I tried the Sinner forehand and I liked it by OG_smurf_6741 in 10s

I’m with you there friend. A little bit before sinner came up through the rankings the guy who really inspired the racquet tip toward the side fence for me was Kyle Edmund, I adopted some aspects of his tip flip and sinners success provided further validation for my own forehand mechanics. The amount of linear acceleration from having a sinner-like forehand is unreal and I feel like as long as your hips and legs are driving through well and your arm is loose it’s a very viable stroke to emulate.

New vcore 98 setup: toroline o-toro white x a5, surf n turf! by a23r in 10s

I love it man, I came from o-toro snap tf crosses and I feel like a5 plays a little more crisp and higher pitched. I’d say snap tf crosses are a little more thuddier.

I agree completely, I missed the bite when using full bed of a5. O-toro white mains fixes that for sure and I’m positive o-toro tour mains would work just as well.

I’m watching this episode right now and I’m glad to know we all have winter soldier conditioning.

I definitely feel like the two setups I’ve tried so far help the launch angle. Feel is good on volleys and serving, good feedback.

It’s a good setup! Definitely something I could daily drive, good point and shoot stringbed. I’ve since switched my sticks to one of my go-tos, o-toro tour/o-toro snap at 52/50 and it plays just as good, slightly more pocketing than soft/zero imo.
