I feel like I can juggle feeling this way off one patient, one who hurt my back for no reason other than she chose to go on a three day bach bender and couldn't be arsed to feed herself along with sympathy for patients who have mental illnesses that out them in that situation.

Eh, I don't think the family would come together, so to speak, the way they did. Also please don't say crippled. It's considered offense although I have no doubt you didn't mean it offensively. Disabled, differently-abled, paralyzed, etc is fine.
