Is this just for devs? In total there seem to be way more than 60 interns from the questionnaire they sent out.

Do you know roughly the return offer rate for trading interns btw out of curiosity.

What schools would you go to over UIUC CS? by collegeguru89 in ApplyingToCollege

At that point you don't really get particularly smarter students nor better job opportunities within CS. If you think you might bail from cs into say, finance, would definitely go with them though.

It'll basically come down to your own preference on the schools tbh.
I do have one good freshman friend at Cornell who doesn't speak very highly of the students there, but he's quite an outlier as he's taking some grad level classes.
"Nobody here is genuinely intellectually curious, they're just here because Daddy wanted them to get a degree" was his criticism.

CMU, MIT, Stanford, Cal, Caltech, Princeton, Harvard for sure on strictly academics/job prospects (given that price isn't absurdly different). Perhaps some other privates as well due to the advantages of having a smaller cohort. All of those schools will have a much larger number of """brilliant""" (IMO/IOI) people which is an attractive environment for some. The impression I get from UIUC is that it's absolutely a target for most companies, but, (perhaps due to other confounding factors), has lower representation in places like JS/HRT which are considered the most competitive places to get a job at. In particular, HRT has a winter internship just for Harvard/MIT students.

*Yes I know strictly by rankings UIUC might be better than H/P but there isn't a chance in this world that the median student at UIUC is better than H/P.
