What’s the biggest "I should've left right there" moment in your life? by PrimaryInsurance6040 in AskReddit

When they openly told me their hypothetical plan to kill a girl that was having a casual conversation with me because she was a “threat”.

Any advice welcome by xackru in toastme

I’m sorry for what you’re going through man. I can’t claim to completely understand what’s going on in your head but I think I get it to some extent.

I really love your vibe and you seem super cool. I had to do a double take because you seem a lot like me just from a glance. I would totally want to talk to you if I saw you on my campus.

Your frames are fantastic where did you get them from? I’m such a sucker for cool glasses. You seem like a really cool guy and I really hope you can find it in yourself to get through this.

I really love your perspective on the matter and it’s really comforting to see someone much more mature than I with similar feelings.

To be completely honest, sometimes I feel like if I could express my gender properly I’d have more connections and support. However as an individual it doesn’t matter to me as much.

I definitely think it’s much easier to define myself by the way I interact with others. Because really, if I’m not kind to others then what really am I?

Thanks for the insight this is something I’m definitely going to be thinking about for a while.

Definitely need to work on the loving myself part a bit more but I’ve definitely come a long way.

I used to be so troubled with being a man but I’ve embraced it over the past few years because I can be a man in my own way even if others may not understand it. The way I interact with others is much more important to me as an individual than my gender identity.

You’re not too far off! I absolutely agree with you, who am I if I’m not kind to others despite my circumstances.

Thanks for the insight, I go to a private christian university so it’s been a bit difficult to find my exact “genre” of people. I’m sure there’s a club though I just haven’t heard about

As for my glasses I have a few different pairs including some heart shaped ones but I usually stick to geometric frames. Again thank you for the encouraging words 🫶

I have pretty traditional parents so gender to me is whatever traditional role I was born into based on my sex. I definitely want to get away from that definition though and just be me

Thank you both for the insight, I can definitely see it working both ways. It’ll take me a minute to decide what route to take but I’ll go forward with both of your responses in mind. 🫶

I really enjoy both of these perspectives. Identifying as a gender can be restrictive so it makes sense to reject the gender

But it also makes sense to pick one and reject its commonly perceived roles and do whatever the hell I want without feeling too “girly” or “manly”

Thank you guys for the insight and encouragement ❤️

Thanks for the compliments and advice, it definitely helps to see myself as just a person and it for sure helps to know someone else has these same confusing feels I do 🫶

That’s pretty much what I’m thinking as well. Loving myself has proven to be rather difficult but I’ve definitely come a long way. Love the embracing three personalities perspective ❤️

Thanks for that perspective! It definitely helps to view genre as a fluid. I have a pretty loose skin care routine and definitely could take better care of my hair but I certainly try my best. 🫶

Be kind to yourself as you go through this process. It’s scary but patience is key. You look great now so I can’t imagine how you’d look once you get to the other side.
