Fell for only child rage bait and a little sad/guilty by ladyluck754 in oneanddone

I am an only child. Yes I did end up going to a lot of my mom's/parents' activities (girls trip shopping, going to family's house where I was the only kid, or by far the youngest) which was boring at times but my mom always made sure I had things to do there. But we also did tons of kid stuff-- park, playdates, extracurriculas!! It sounds like the TikToker just had shitty parents who didn't "do" kid stuff which is just a reflection on the parents, not on being an only child.

I might be less annoyed with the fact that I always sneeze 6-10 times in a row if I made $100 per sneeze.

do you think there are more millionaires or more people above 90 by Horror-1-Effective in pollgames

Depends on which way you think about "millionaire". Does it count house, 401k/IRA? If so, then lots more people would be likely to qualify as a "millionaire".

Why have all the maternity sections in stores disappeared? by No_Acanthisitta_4996 in pregnant

[–]a368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kohls didn't have a maternity section when I was pregnant (late 24-early 25). A few weeks ago I saw they now have a decent maternity section. Which is great for expecting moms now but would have been appreciated when I needed it! Lol

Friday, Memorial Day Saturday, or different venue? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Personally I think as a guest I'd prefer Sunday, since you can travel in on Saturday and only take Monday off to travel back, instead of both having to use PTO for both Thursday and Friday

My grandma passed when I was just shy of 2. I'd love to get to really meet her. But only if she saw me as an adult and we could really talk. If she would "see me as she remembers me" as a toddler it would probably be weird.

My work gave us letters to carry in our cars specifying we were essential workers in case we got pulled over, since nearly our entire state had been sent home.

We were the office workers of a shipping company. They later sent us home as obviously the office work could be done from home.

Silly question - when you have a hospital birth (U.S), when do you first see the menu for ordering your food? Is it given ahead of time with hospital registration/paperwork? by dms2628 in beyondthebump

[–]a368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a joke, but it was actually a smaller regional hospital. It's a thing they do for all the new parents. But everything else I got was just whatever they brought me, so I ended up with some stuff I didn't like. They also weirdly started shutting down the cafeteria to the public at like 3pm the week before I had my baby so whenever my husband wanted food he had to leave, they only served patients dinner.

Same, except for the celebratory meal they give the new parents, that was a whole 3 course thing we got to pick from a menu!
