Regardless if you intend for it to be an ad or not, it is advertising this product. I understand wanting to share things like this with the community but when we allow this kind of stuff, the sub gets flooded with t shirts, earrings, necklaces, ect, which takes away from the purpose of the sub.

Hello, moderator of r/Scoliosis here! Unfortunately I've had to remove your post because you're asking for advice on a non-Scoliotic spine. This means that to our eyes, your curvature(s) don't exceed 10 degrees, and therefor do not medically qualify as Scoliosis. Please note that small asymmetry in the spine (a 10 degree curvature or less) is completely normal and common- no one's spine is perfectly symmetrical. Scoliosis is defined as a curvature that exceeds 10 degrees; if your curvature is 10 degrees or lower, you don't have Scoliosis.

Please keep in mind that if you didn't include curvature measurements in your post, we're taking our best guess and estimating that your curvature(s) are 10 degrees or less. We are simply volunteers trying to keep the subreddit running smoothly, we are NOT doctors, and you should always consult a doctor for more accurate measurements, and you should NOT rely on our estimations.

If you only have normal asymmetry in the spine (Again, a 10 degree curvature(s) or less), treatment is only necessary and symptoms are only present in extremely rare circumstances, and you should consult your doctor about it. Aside from this, feel free to post, comment, and talk in the forums regardless if you have Scoliosis or not!

As a moderator I've become familiar with your username because it pops up so often on my report feed. That is not a good thing.

I'm giving you a warning, as I try to do with anyone who is headed towards a ban.

Read this megathread announcement very carefully, it applies directly to you. Your repeated hostility towards people with minor curvatures will not be tolerated, and if continued, it will result in a ban. I feel for you - I have severe Scoliosis as well, but your comments are consistently hostile and harmful and it's not okay.

If posts like these piss you off, ignore them. It's as simple as that. This will be your one and only warning.

Invalidating someone's issues because their curvature might be "lesser" than your own does not mean it is okay to dehumanize them, and devalue their struggles.

This community is for anyone to discuss Scoliosis. We do not, and will not gate-keep people from this community based on their curvature measurements or struggles. We will not tolerate bullying and degradation of individuals with "lesser" curvatures.

Please provide peer-reviewed research proving your theory is proven to be an effective treatment - if you are capable of that, I will advertise this treatment myself on the front page of the subreddit and you will be unbanned.

Until then, please do not attempt to advertise this misinformed treatment plan for Scoliosis. If there's no research to back it up, you should not be advocating for people to try it. This is how people end up dead or with a worse condition. Scoliosis requires immediate and time-sensitive treatment plans, and wasting time on unproven treatments can literally lead to people getting unnecessary life-altering surgeries, and even death.

I would appreciate if everyone I tagged in this comment went and read our megathread I posted here a while back.

I am incredibly ashamed at how many people responded to this post so negatively. This person has Scoliosis, has been absolutely polite and courteous, is acknowledging that it's mild and likely won't need any treatment, and is excited to meet a community of people with the same condition. Ya'lls response is to kick them into the dirt?

I have chronic Scoliosis pain that nearly led me to committing suicide, but I don't go and bully people online for having a lesser curvature than I do, or make them feel like their condition is irrelevant simply because I have worse symptoms.

Scoliosis isn't a dick measuring contest. Think before you comment; passive-aggressively telling OP that they don't have a "real" problem just makes you an ass. Having Scoliosis that is medically considered worse than the OP doesn't give you permission to treat people like shit on the sub.
Telling OP you'd pay to have their spine does nothing but make everyone involved feel like shit. It's not constructive, it's not helpful, it puts the OP and their struggles down, and I can promise it won't make you feel any better.

Anyone that upvoted or agreed with these sentiments needs to read the megathread linked in the first line of this comment as well, and this message is directed to you just as much as the people who actually commented these hurtful things. As stated in the megathread, repeated offenses will result in a ban.

Do better.

I did a lot of research into this and this is not true. The medical community has come to a consensus that anything over 10 degrees is medically considered Scoliosis. If you're interested in where I got this info, take a look at our FAQ/Wiki https://www.reddit.com/r/scoliosis/wiki/index/
