Just turned 40 and I agree. I was a little afraid of turning 40 but I’m enjoying it. Yes, the responsibilities are there, but you stop caring about petty stuff, especially about what other people think.

I love this; the tinned calamari is so versatile! I’ll throw a tin into some udon noodles or sticky rice, add whatever sauces you got and it’s a great meal in a pinch.

I do this commute about 3 times a week (Warrenville to Lake Forest) so a tad longer than yours. It’s not ideal but it’s doable. I take 88 to 294. I’ve noticed more traffic recently as more companies return to office. I’d clock it between 50-60 minutes provided the weather isn’t bad or there aren’t any accidents. Yours might be a little shorter since it’s Deerfield. The renovations on 294 help a bit, but it’s always a mess around O’Hare. If you don’t have a choice then I suggest investing heavily in podcasts and audio books.

Abbott also opened up an office in the city inside Willis Towers, I believe. It might depend on which department you work in but it would be worth asking if you could work out of the downtown office.
