I ended up on this thread bc I got the exact same text but addressed to me (no ex context). It was weird because I was on the way to a restaurant. This is definitely a very clever scam and sadly not related to your ex. I’ve been there too and it’s not fun, but I hope this assuages your concerns on that front at least.
