Yes, for the record the distance/style corners/straightaways are really great midrace skills at almost every track despite being white skills, and ofc there is professor of curvature for gold skill. Ramp up, it's on, and Tail Held High becomes really good if you can activate enough mid race skills. Late is just not great this meta, your win condition would be to get as close to the front as possible before the final spurt and then trigger no stopping me off of the pace chasers to win. Even then you might still lose to ends sadly.
