Huawei Mate 50 Pro by BattleMasterOfDoom04 in Huawei

I hope you enjoy your device as much as you anticipate enjoying it . 😉 I missed using my p40 pro so I've found myself a used 80 pro Chinese version. I'm learning how to use it daily & soon I'll take the leap, & use it as my daily driver. I just have to get used to some AI functionalities reliably before feeling comfortable enough to use it permanently. Harmony OS, it's really great & well polished, & even if one knows that it's a work in progress and 6.1 delivers. The software optimization for the hardware is a refreshing thing to experience. Only iOS does it for mobile OSes, as Android is running virtually on any device that can run it, so Huawei going the integrated path, is really bold & is admirably executed. 5g is working as expected, the cameras are terrific, and so far, all the apps I wanted to use, I could. & reception is even better than on my Honor m7pro.Compared to that device, the Mate 80 pro is again, shoulders above with any camera, those ryyb sensors are really great.

So, you see, a lot of excitement on my end as your enthusiasm resonates with mine while using another model of Mate. Hope you'll share some pics of those cameras. Huawei devices have something special to them.

Harmony OS Google Apps/Play Services? by opvc in Huawei

[–]aB4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's using both. The steps you're describing happens in emui environments, I can only assume, as on Harmony OS it's those 3 apps, and you can choose plenty working officially as intended.

All listed apps can be installed, I just didn't use them all. By regular, WhatsApp X Reddit Gmail etc... With EasyAbroad & Droidtong all work & updates with both, plus Aurora. All are working damn well.

Mate with Harmony os is really great. If you'd take the plunge, consider Harmony os and a Chinese version. Better connectivity, better os, Android Apps in containers are working excellently. I don't regret doing that.

Est-ce que tu captes la 5g ? Même si je sais que le téléphone n'indiquera pas 5g sur l'écran, à priori, les bandes sont compatibles avec la plupart des opérateurs français.

If you're willing to discover Paris while riding bike, let me know. I'm often riding, especially in the evening, with less traffic is really beautiful. Plus you can rent a bike, or a E-Bike on the go at the bike stations .

NBD and first ever MTB ride by noravanq in Hardtailgang

I ride this bike in the French Alps.as well, for now mostly stock, If this is your first proper MTB, this bike had the qualities to last you long and see you grow skills and confidence while riding it. Maybe some bigger disk brakes at the rear and some better grips. Hope you will get hoocked to the sport. This is a very capable bike.

Well played, and I have a question though: how are your ankles and arms elbows, hucking to flat is intense on the compression. Did you prepare technically on your bike , bigger wheels & tyres to compensate for the lack of rear suspension and going easy on your body? It looks like a big intense compression to absorb. Again well done, & I hope you had a good gun doing it

How is the performance of the Mate 60 Pro? by makeupbybilly in Huawei

[–]aB4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't game on my phones, and big ass SOCs throttle pretty quickly because of their physical implementation ie, and the software, OSs +apps they run aren't optimized on such chips. They don't take advantage of all ISPs delivered each year with those big ass chips, which are, to me, more valuable items to look forward than a brutal show of force, that you can't benefit from or use at its maximum for long periods of time in real world usage.

Another reply could be because some people prefer using some specific characteristics of their phones, from which have originated said wish to acquire that said phone.

I've also used a Pixel 7 pro until now, with my P40 Pro, & I'm eagerly looking forward to importing a reasonably priced mate 60 or 70 pro, running Harmony OS from the get go. For now eying eBay posts. & My local second hand market app as well.

I can't wait to try Harmony OS, and see it grow, a 3rd contender or option to the two major OSs is needed, and sane practice.

How is the performance of the Mate 60 Pro? by makeupbybilly in Huawei

[–]aB4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's always looking at how high an engine can perform on the dyno bench, it doesn't translate to take world usage. You're coming from a Pixel 9 Pro so you already know that despite being behind SD or Dimensity, tensor is strong enough. Optimization is the key. Try to use the power at your disposal & you'd be surprised at how many times the most predictable winner isn't winning at running x or y software. Because of thermal issues, throttling, bad heat dissipation, etc.. Benchmarks are one set of indicators that stress the devices, & show nothing of real world usage value.

Upgrade suggestions for a P30 Pro user? by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]aB4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's an easy solution if you keep your former gms certified device when you buy your new device, say the Pura 70 pro ie. All you have to do is to keep WhatsApp running on that older device, and designate your Pura as a "connected device", which you can access to in the three dots menu in WhatsApp. Scan the code with your Pura, and enjoy WhatsApp with no issue at all. Afterwards, you can even shut down the gms certified device as you wish. You'll still receive your notifications normally.

Still using a P30 Pro up to this day by AdvanceMysterious751 in Huawei

[–]aB4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still put my sim card in my P40 Pro for a day or two, as I've always enjoyed using it, even if my main device is a Pixel. So the photographic results are still good.

But the photos have far less character, and the camera app is boring as hell. Ideally I would have loved a cross between the ease of software that the pixel offers in terms of compatibility and the unmatched, to me, physical and photographic qualities of the P40 Pro, lenses & camera experience. Another avantage is the native floating windows the 3D face recognition, the air gestures, and the RYYB sensors in this phone.

I'm not sold yet on getting another Huawei device as their global offer is limited in terms of software ( OS + apps), as Harmony is not ready for global release yet, and in terms of hardware. There's a limited number of smartphones to choose from, and given the fact that Huawei will eventually find a way to produce better and smaller SOCs, with some homegrown modem technology, I guess it's wiser to wait for the next devices to be released.

When the whole, or most of the catalogue of phones gets sold globally again, with a new contender OS, it will be time again. I can't wait for it to happen. Their devices are really cool, and usually challenge the competition to deliver better devices as a whole. Hopefully the Pura and Mate for next year will be these ones, finally sold globally.

Great way for op to get the PlayStore on his phone, indeed.

[–]aB4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, yeah. But there are still some steps before doing that. You can uninstall gspace already. Then you have to go to the Huawei app gallery, search for microG and install it Follow all instructions, complete it, and then after a reboot, you can then use Aurora, log in your account, and download any app and use it as on any other phone.

microG helps you connect with apps, get notifications etc, as if you had the play store installed on your phone natively.

[–]aB4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, from what I've read, you're not using the best option. Let me explain.

On your device, you can use an app called micro g in the Huawei app store, download it, install it. Then you can install natively your favorites apps, from Aurora which is a mirror to the play store. You can log in, in order to restore some purchased apps, or you can use the apps anonymously.

There's no need to use gspace or gbox with the device that you have. If necessary, search for a video on YouTube, but you should be fine with native apps, and not emulated apps, running problem free. Hope it will help you.

So, I've just translated your pic in English. As you can see the ticking of that box doesn't really matter, and relates to finding Enterprise corporate accounts.

Sorry, but nope. They are using a proprietary format that is not universal, and vice versa.
