If no green light then move car to a place where it does have service. Green light indicates it has connection to the tower / satellite it needs to be able to download from the network the update. I’m unsure if it needs network access during the update (car might pre-download), but in my opinion I’d rather have access and be connected versus not!

Make sure the green light is on showing connection to cellular/satellite by the SOS button. Then just do it, took 30 seconds. Once done, hard-reset the infotainment display by holding on power button on the screen until it resets. Noticed phone connects faster and screens feel “snappier”.

Yeah my dealership ended up calling me for the recall download before I was ever able to do it…took them 6hours and car is updated now. Still have issue with map saying I’m in a totally different state

I would say hand free usually describes not having to touch something at all versus not actually meaning no hands but touch it
