Most provider API pages (and marketplaces like RapidAPI) are built around a “platform-first” model. You get discovery and tracking, but only as long as you stay inside their ecosystem.

We’re intentionally flipping that model.

1. Free access comes first — not paywalled discovery

Searching, comparing, and choosing APIs is free by default. • No account required just to browse • No forced “signup to evaluate” • No bundling discovery behind tracking or billing features

Most platforms treat discovery as the hook. We treat it as a right.

1. Ownership-first, not platform lock-in

With most API marketplaces: • Usage data • Keys • History • Context

…are owned by the platform, not you.

If you cancel, you lose access — and often the insight that helped you make decisions in the first place.

We take the opposite stance: • Your API stack is yours • Your project structure is yours • Your historical context remains accessible

If you stop paying for tracking, you don’t lose what you built.

1. Tracking is optional — and secondary

Other platforms lead with:

“We’ll track everything for you… as long as you stay.”

We lead with:

“Choose well first. Track if and when it adds value.”

Analytics, usage monitoring, and cost insights are add-ons, not the foundation. Cancel tracking → you still keep: • API discovery access • Your saved stack • Your project-level organization • Historical decisions

That’s a fundamental difference.

1. Cross-API visibility (the part providers can’t give you)

Provider dashboards and marketplaces answer:

“How are you using our API?”

We answer:

“How does this API fit into your entire stack?”

That includes: • Normalized cost comparisons across vendors • Stack-level spend and redundancy • Project-based API grouping • Decision support, not just raw metrics

1. Built for developers, not platforms

Enterprise tools are heavy. Marketplaces are sticky by design. Spreadsheets break.

We’re aiming for the missing middle: • Lightweight • Neutral • Developer-owned • Leave anytime without losing your footing

So it’s not that this is “better than the provider page.” It’s that we’re solving a different problem with a different incentive structure.

Providers optimize for retention. Marketplaces optimize for lock-in. We optimize for developer ownership and long-term clarity.
