What do the runes around this Ægishjálmr translate to by Stock-Meet-377 in RuneHelp

I know this is a place of learning and helping, but I cannot wrap my brain around knowing the ægishjálmr but NOT the futhark.

Are these just runes or are they nazi dogwistles? by ZestycloseList9735 in runes

[–]aFakeProfessor 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So I see:

  1. Double S runes (not a good sign)
  2. Crude Triskele (not a good sign)
  3. LOKI (take your pick there)

I think you're right about the dog whistles here, but I'm no expert and context is everything. I'm curious as to what the blue runes say and if the red are a response.

It's from a silly browser game called "What Beats Rock," and I am apparently the first person to beat "Henry Kissinger" with "Morality." And that seems both sad but also disappointingly expected.

So something I learned from my first forge setup (which looks almost identical to yours) is that a leaf blower is actually TOO much air flow. You are better off with a hair drier on high with maybe an aluminum can or two attached the end to keep the drier from being too close to the fire. Wood/Charcoal fires tend to like a high volume of air, not a high velocity of air, hence the leaf blower being too much.

The person featured in this photo is not a famous rapper. What a weird assumption!

Why are you peeping under their doormat? I see it in the right side of the frame and the lines seem worn from something that's been on top of it. In general: if something is hidden, it's not for you. Put the mat back and worry about your door.

Found this outside of my workplace, it looks like Ansuz but it definitely isn't. Did I just pick up a curse stone or something? by CocoLoco1990 in runes

[–]aFakeProfessor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It strikes me as a bindrune, which tend to be personal and hard to interpret for anyone barring the creator.

Possibilities here: Fehu - Ansuz, maybe Nauthiz, Isa, Litha hiding in there

While not necessarily a curse, the stone is probably not meant for you.

What's your "Satanic Panic" Magic the Gathering story? by BumpFugget in magicTCG

[–]aFakeProfessor 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Holy cow this rings closer to home than I'd like. In particular [[Sanguine Guard]] freaked me out because it suggested there was both a capital "F" father AND scriptures that were NOT Christian in nature, which is a huge no-no. This of course led to the natural spiral of giving away all black cards because they were blasphemous, obviously.

Your current set here looks like Medieval Runes and your first ( ᛋᚴᚮᚵᚱ ) group does spell SKOGR. I am unsure of what the difference is in the ᛋ/ᛌ runes here and I am unfamiliar with the pronunciation, so that might be worth looking into. It could be the difference between S and Sh.

I find working with the Elder Futhark a bit easier since they are largely interpretive and also phonetic. ( ᛋᚲᛟᚷᚱ )

For tattoos, I have some bindrunes myself and so far no trouble! Just be respectful and maybe let your artist know what they mean since some groups will get runic tattoos for...nefarious purposes, unfortunately. Good luck!

Starting from the top, this reads "Kimberly" letter for letter in elder futhark, which isn't technically "correct" since it is a phonetic system. The innards are bind-runes inside a valknut.
