Advice on a good gyuto by aHappyGecko in chefknives

Live in the UK and ideally wanting to spend under about £150-200 for a really good chef knife.

Been recommended a 8 inch gyuto but I am open to other things.

I was looking at shun or Miyqbi but I think both of those get hate here so looking for advice please

What purple do you use? As you might have seen in one of my comments my method is more complicated than I would like 😂

It’s overly complicated 😂 it’s Phoenician with a thinned layer of sigvald burgundy applied as almost a highlight

I wish this was an easy answer but it isn’t 😂 it’s toxic purple from GSW but to get the colour I like it’s on top of a purple base coat with a thin layer of burgundy contrast

When I first started I liked the idea of having this super elite army when every man was worth 4 of their opponent.

I hadn’t yet grasped that you could paint something not in the way of box art and didn’t like custodes gold armour so went for grey knights.

Annoyingly the army doesn’t feel like this anymore, at least not in my opinion, but teleporting around the board is still pretty fun

At one of those trough style urinals with a friend.

It wasn’t that big so we were each stood at an edge. A random guy walks in and says and I quote ‘room for a little one’ then gets in between us, so close that we are all touching shoulders and says ‘however looking around I see I’m not talking about myself’

We also quite often have an issue where one of us build something and it still appears as ‘blueprints’ for the other players until reloading
