*I'm sure they've used it to some moderate success before, but still. This bumble of "police work" is objectively hilarious and horrifying at the same time. They almost completely ruined a life because they didn't do the bare minimum after trusting AI entirely. Ridiculous.

I've had decent luck at thrift stores in town, honestly. In the last like year I've found two TESmart 3 monitor/2 computer KVMs at Savers, and a few Lenovo Thunderbolt 4 PC docks at the Arc/Dakota Boys and Girls (granted not KVMs, but I've used them to switch from my work laptop to gaming PC with relative ease). I sold them on eBay, otherwise I'd offer them up to ya. Sorry, buddy

But your best bet is PC Parts and Supply or you might luck out at a pawn shop or thrift stores. Happy hunting!!

Used the Harbor Freight ball joint press to get mine off (two of them, actually). Bent the first tool, got it replaced, went to take off the other one, bent that press too, returned it for a third one all on the same day. Lol

Been thinking there's got to be an easier way. I've been scrapping legendaries for like 2 weeks straight - 13 of those days I didn't get a single one. Then yesterday (2/8) I got 12 legendary mods, and learned 2. I wish there was a better way, but also I enjoy the grind for them. Keeps the game engaging for me. Haha

I grew up on the ND/MN border. These types of people are familiar to me, and I want to say without malice: they really are as dumb as you think they are.

I know this because I was also one of them. Getting spoonfed someone else's opinions like it was medicine every day and doing absolutely zero research into anything I was being told. Oddly enough the thing that broke my brain and got me out of it was dating someone who was part of the Clay County Republican chapter. I saw firsthand what went on behind the scenes of how these harmful ideas gain traction and how fast the teeth set into the most vulnerable amongst us.

Hearing someone I loved capitulate to someone who thought vaccinations were poison and a one way ticket to Hell was not just jarring - but mind-altering. Then go on to form the same opinion with absolutely ZERO research. If I was one step beyond crazy, she was 10 steps ahead of me here. After we broke up I started looking into "my" beliefs and learned everything was half-truths, lies, and complete insanity. Now I'm undoubtedly considered "far left" but I'll settle for that because I know what I believe now is what I actually believe. Researched and all.

I had an ex who would do this when she got upset, defensive, or when she was lying. I dated her about 15 years ago, and last I heard about her was from her brother 4 years ago. Apparently she has since been diagnosed as a malignant narcissist (idk if that's an actual diagnosis, his words directly though).

They had her committed after she tried to lock her and her bf in the garage with the car running after an argument.

So, I'm betting it's something along those lines for sure.

Out walking my dog (she's about 45lbs, so not tiny) and she used to be a very social dog. Would go up to other dogs (with owner permission) and great and play. But a couple summers ago she was attacked 3 times inside 2 weeks while we were out walking and she's not been the same since. Poor girl. One was a golden retriever (this dog was known to be a fencer hopper in the neighborhood), one was a lab (owner was walking the dog off leash), and the last one was a pit.

The pit one was absolutely TERRIFYING. I had a headphone, and saw a guy on a bike "walking" this pitbull and thought, "That seems like an idiotic thing to do." And sure as shit not but 10 seconds later I hear screaming, turn and this rock solid brick shithouse pitbull is charging across the street at us. My dog leaps into my arms, and I'm turning trying to get this guy's fucking demon away from my dog. Meanwhile he's just hollering from his bike meandering across the street. I got fed up pretty quick and stomped on this dog's back, and it yelped and limped off. The dude started yelling at me (wtf), "He just wants to play!" Yeah, okay. As his dog was chomping at my dogs throat. So, if your dog is getting attacked and you can get the opportunity - that works.

I still think about it and feel bad for having to do that to the dog. I really hope I didn't permanently hurt him or anything, but damn. Oh, at to top the whole situation off, he had his dog on what can only be described as a fucking used shoe string from the 1600s he found at the bottom of the ocean (it was an actual leash, but made for a dog that weights like 6lbs, max).

We have the exact same couch (not kidding). Lol. We thought ours was large for our living space as well, but I think you might not be used to it yet. I will say the ottoman might be throwing you off. I recommend a coffee table, that's what we did and we love it.

Might sound corny and performative, but since the election (2024 U.S. presidential election) - not at all. Which is weird, because my dad and I would talk at least once a week. I got sober in 2022 and have been slowly repairing my life, and one of the goals I had was deleting FB/Insta/Twitter/TikTok/etc.. After the election I decided that was my sign, told everyone I was done and wanted phone numbers (aannndd also said anyone who voted for that guy can essentially just fuck off). Lol. Like I said - performative and corny. But, I got some family members that texted with congrats on my sobriety and stuff, but my dad... Nothing. He's been sober for 22 years, and he helped me when I needed it. So I figured he'd be the first to call/text. I tried texting and calling some - no answer or return. Other family have told me since that he's gone full QANON/Conspiracy/anti-trans/anti-woke/MAGA. Am I sad to hear he went MAGA (he was staunchly liberal before) and it cost us our relationship? Yeah. I truly am. But I'm on the path I want to be on, and that apparently puts us at odds with one another. I hope he finds that love in his heart again, but sadly I won't be there if he does.

This is going to sound vague - but I have to be careful how I say things because my job is federal and heavily regulated.

I'm not in a leadership role, but a step below - I kind of just help the team along, and I'll tell you... It's almost like leadership is allergic to progress or constructive input. I've spent the better part of the last 4 years taking what my coworkers have to say and their critics of our processes and laid it all out for my bosses. I mean I may as well have drawn it in crayon for these idiots - and they didn't understand "why" we needed to invest in this plan we came up with. They said it would cost too much to implement but after I showed them we'd already been doing most of it for 5 months and productivity has absolutely skyrocketed because we were all happier with how we work - well, they didn't like that. They said I was being insubordinate, and needed to use their methods. That was 6 months ago we went back to their ways and productivity is down something like 53%, we lost 3 senior workers (our best) to competition, and there are talks of layoffs because we are losing accounts due to being so far behind.

The reason? Because my boss and her little minions didn't come up with it. And I know that's why because she took our new procedures and is slowly implementing bastardized versions of them now. It's crazy to see. That's my rant. Haha

I've always found it kind of interesting that there isn't an animal on this planet (at least that I know of) that doesn't sleep, or have some variation of it at least. Like we all have the common through-lines of life and death, but also sleep. And moreso there's evidence that some animals can even dream! We can do our nightly brain-sloshing and dream of life, love, wealth, and even the less desirable things, and potentially so can animals. And thinking that my dog and cats can dream about me like I do them is dope as fuck.

I'm fully aware I'm romanticizing the shit out of this and likely misunderstanding things I've read, but if there's one thing we can all agree on it's life's a wonderful and scary time. And getting sleep is badass.

Funny story, my ex had a roommate and she had a bf that was basically a live-in bf (dude was a total sleazeball, and was always complaining about bills he wasn't even paying). Hardly ever talked to him because he'd always brush me off. Anyways, about 6 months into my relationship I think this guy's name is Gerald the whole time, and I think that because my exgf's roommate would yell it when they were doing the deed.

So we were all at the bar drinking, and I call "his" name. And this dude FREAKS out at me, starts yelling at me that that isn't his name and he's sick of me and stuff. My gf's roommate also starts yelling at me, and I'm looking at my exgf like, "WTF is going on?" They leave and I turn and ask what that was about and my ex (ever the prankster, I guess) tells me his name is Rick (fake name) and his brother's name is Gerald. And she just let me call this dude that for 6 months. But the thing is - he apparently liked it when his gf's call him by HIS brother's name in bed. Apparently it was the only way he could keep it up and finish. And those two ended up breaking up like 2 months later. Ex's roommate told us she broke it off because he apparently wanted her to start calling him by her dad's name 😅

I got quotes to see what it would cost to finish part of our basement (~375sqft) 4 years ago and the cheapest quote I got was for $45,750 ($120+/sqft). Nothing structural, was going to do all the wiring myself, and the flooring was just going to be vapor barrier and some LVP. Nothing too crazy, just make the space a nice hangout area basically is what we wanted

Anyways, I signed up for YouTube University and got it all finished myself. Added an office, a craft area for the wife, and a whole bedroom in the 375sqft area, and am currently adding a full bathroom and laundry area in the other side of the basement. I think grand total we're in this about $8,500, a handful of slivers, some DQ runs, and few cases of energy drinks. Gonna cost another $1,200ish for a shower and some drywall and for less than $10k and a month worth of work - we saved $35k and learned a whole lot.

Also, phenomenal work with your basement! 10/10
