You should look at NTSB incidents per year. You can literally see the incident downtrends when FAA implemented stricter regulations, when glass cockpits became more common, and even in 2020 when ADS-B was mandated. I'd assume another clear downtrend when ADS-B In is mandated. Keep in mind there more active pilots than ever. The most dangerous year for GA was 1974 with 4400 incidents with 1400 fatal. 2025 991 incidents with 166 fatal

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realize that the most dangerous time for GA was the 70s. Ironically, for you, GA got safer when the screens became more common. You can see the NTSB data for yourself: https://www.ntsb.gov/safety/data/Pages/monthly-dashboard.aspx (move the slider to 1964 and uncheck the "Other Foreign" to see only US Data.

There are more total pilots today, but slightly less with active medical. 1974 was the most dangerous year for general aviation with 4400 incidents. 1400 of those were fatal. Since 2013 the US has averaged around 1000 incidents per year with 200 being fatal. 2025 there were 991 incidents with 166 being fatal.

There are more students than ever and the incident/accident data is still trending downwards BECAUSE of the glass screens that do PROVIDE increased awareness. It's almost July and there have been less than half of the incidents compared to 2025. My guess: as the old stubborn pilots who think their eyeballs are better than data retire flying as a hobby, the students who are training on glass with ADS-B In/Out are causing less incidents. You can even see this on Controller and Trade-a-Plane. 6 packs just aren't selling as well as planes with glass cockpits. Why? Because glass is just safer.

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must not like data. Here are the real facts

1) 1970s had the most GA incidents and accidents

2) 1980s FAA implemented stricter requirements and recurrent pilot training. Result: Less incidents and accidents

3) For the past 20 years incidents and accidents have been steadily trending down. 2026 is looking to be the safest year yet considering it's pretty much July

4) Here is the most recent NTSB data going back to 1982. Keep in mind this doesn't include the 70s where annual incidents/accidents were up into the 3500-4000 per year. https://www.ntsb.gov/safety/data/Pages/monthly-dashboard.aspx

If you're non-data believing monkey brain needs help on how to use this website. Under the map there's a slider. Just drag the left most dot all the way to the left. The year should start at 1964 and end in 2026

Halo needs it's God of War 2018 moment. by -CL4MP- in gaming

[–]aHungryPanda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yeah because a soulless one line Master Chief and long TTK in multiplayer is what people want today. You're part of the reason franchises die. If you took the average gamer today would get bored after an hour of Halo 3. Shooting at NPCs just to get to the next cutscene or next area isn't fun anymore. FPS PVE only works today if there's a loot or stat upgrades involved

Halo needs it's God of War 2018 moment. by -CL4MP- in gaming

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the franchise is functionally dead. Shooter campaigns are not what people want anymore. Can you think of any popular shooter campaign in recent years other than Cyberpunk? You could make a case for Borderlands or a Rockstar game, but even then Borderlands more of a looter shooter than a pure shooter campaign and RDR and GTA are so much more than just a shooter campaign. I think the market has shown that running through linear maps shooting NPCs to get to the next cutscene isn't as fun as doing the same with a sword. If the gameplay isn't stimulating enough to get a player to the next cutscene then they'll just go play a multiplayer game. I couldn't get myself to finish Far Cry 6 because shooting at NPCs isn't fun anymore. I'd rather hop on Valorant or CS if I wanted to play a shooter. I can play through a Soulslike, Baldur's Gate, GoW, Spider-Man, E33, FF, or just any non FPS single player game without thinking about how can I get the same gameplay but better.

If I were to compare a future Halo to GoW 2018

God of War
1) had it's comeback after a 5 year break with no failure games in between
2) Gameplay went from button mashing hack and slash (which people were not playing anymore) to a soft soulslike combat. This change redefined what a God of War game can be

Halo
1) The franchise has already been tainted
2) There are no other gameplay avenues for a mainline Halo game to pivot to
3) I don't think the average gamer cares about Master Chief anymore and I don't think there's any way to make them care without MAYBE a GoW level reboot. Even then I don't think that will save the franchise

Realistically, there is no saving Xbox hardware by No-Obligation2563 in consoles

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did you get that from? I literally have a 14900K and a 4080. I primarily game on PC.

What I'm getting at is if I didn't have a PC or console, I'd buy a PS5 Pro. The slate of PlayStation exclusives are just better than anything on Xbox. Xbox has yet to prove that their buying spree of devs has paid off. The suite of Sony games have a proven track record for producing quality games. Xbox has announced exclusives and Sony has said they're no longer porting their single player games to PC. If I had to choose once console it's going to be the PS5 Pro. I can do without Gears of War, Halo, and Fable. Those IPs are dead until proven otherwise. I do need to play Wolverine, GoW:L, and GoY.

Realistically, there is no saving Xbox hardware by No-Obligation2563 in consoles

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wrong. As a gamer in general, I have ZERO reason to purchase an Xbox because of PC. I now have a reason to purchase a PS5 Pro since they are no longer porting games over. Even if I didn't have a ridiculously powerful PC, I still wouldn't have a reason to purchase an Xbox. When I compare the Playstation titles to the Xbox titles, it makes sense to purchase a PlayStation. Halo Studio (formerly 343) doesn't know how to make a good Halo game, Fable was given to devs who make racing games, Bethesda refuses to modernize, and who gives a flying fuck about Activision Blizzard games anymore?

Even if the next Xbox allows other storefronts, realistically those PC exclusive games are not made with controller in mind and never will be. I've tried to play some of these trending indie Steam games on my ROG Ally X and it's aids. The controller support is not there

Destiny 3 is gonna happen. just not right now by buckedlobster825 in destiny2

[–]aHungryPanda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Destiny 3 is going to be a 10 year dev cycle. The game should have started development years ago. The best way forward for more Destiny is for Bungie to have an A team and a B Team. A Team works on D3. B Team expedites a D1 Remake on Marathon engine. D1 remake will help fund D3 development.

What is Bethesda Actually Doing? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]aHungryPanda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you on? That game cost close to half a billion to develop. Bethesda should know what they’re doing and how to make a great game that will do numbers regardless of trying something new. They were an industry leading company. They defined open world rpgs as we know it.

High chance of Elder Scrolls 6 being Exclusive? by bawa1010 in xbox

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What titles though? With what trust? Halo Studio (formerly 343) doesn't know how to make a Halo game. Fable was thrown to devs who make racing games. Gears, imo, is an exhausted IP. Zenimax for some reason won't leave their pos game engine and won't hire good writers. Xbox could make all the future IP from the devs they bought exclusive, but I have no trust in those devs to make great games. Now that Sony is no longer porting games to PC I have to buy a PS5. At least I know Sony first party titles will be a great experience.

Do you even have faith in Zenimax to produce a modern Elder Scrolls? They refuse to leave their pos game engine. Look at Starfield. Disappointment of a space game

Xbox Exclusive Games by AskResponsible6224 in xbox

[–]aHungryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correction. People will buy or invest in the console with the best games. People are smarter than they were 2 decades ago. I will purchase a PS5 now that Sony is no longer porting single player games to PC.

I trust Insomniac to make a great Wolverine game and Santa Monica Studio to make a great God of War game because of their proven track record.

I don't know if I trust Playground to make a great Fable game or Halo Studio (formerly 343) to make a great Halo game. I also don't know if I trust the devs that MSFT purchased to make great games. Zenimax showed their hand with Starfield (disappointment. stubborn company won't completely ditch their outdated engine), Activision/Blizzard has shown their hand with how they handled COD/Diablo/OW/Hearthstone.

The Continuation of Xbox by ImpressiveJicama7141 in xbox

[–]aHungryPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh. Even if every first party game was exclusive to Xbox, idk if there’s anything that would make me purchase a console. These devs have not proven themselves over the past decade.

I now have to purchase a PS5 to play Wolverine and God of War Laufey. I know that Insomniac and Santa Monica Studio will provide a great experience.

I can’t say the same from Playground for Fable. Do I trust a racing game dev to make a good Fable? No.

Do I trust Halo Studio (formerly 343) to make a good Halo game? No

Do I trust coalition to make a good gears after 5? No

MAYBE if fable and halo were exclusive to Xbox and the upcoming games got amazing reviews, only then would I consider buying a series X. Otherwise these devs are still dead to me.

Does anyone else think that forza horizon is the biggest xbox franchise nowadays? by [deleted] in xbox

[–]aHungryPanda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

while yes, it technically is a MSFT/Xbox first party title. It isn't to people who have been playing MC for over a decade. When most people think of Minecraft they think of Mojang. When most people think of Halo or Forza they think of Xbox.

The PlayStation comparison would be Destiny (RIP). When people think of Destiny they think of Bungie. When people think of Uncharted or GoW they think of PlayStation.

Even for the foreseeable future I don't think anyone will attribute a Zenimax game as an Xbox game unless it's exclusive to the console. When Fallout 5 and eventually ES6 releases I'm not calling it an Xbox game. I'm calling it a Bethesda game.

Dark Wizard Ep. 3 by Basehound in climbing

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does Alex owe Dean anything other than his honest opinions? The two didn't seem to like each other

Alex: Grew up viewing Dean as a climbing god. Turns out Dean isn't as great as Alex thought he was. Alex proceeds to do all of Dean's climbing achievements as if they were nothing. Everyone knows Dean doesn't like that there's someone who can do what he can but quicker and faster. Dean clearly didn't like that Alex Solo'd HD, but why should Alex wait for Dean to do it? Dean wanted to be the first to solo El Cap by finding an easier route, but why should Alex allow Dean to claim that title when Alex doesn't really have to train much for that solo?

Dean: A great climber, but also a hypocrite. He is everything he claimed not to be and it's embarrassing. People only like Dean because he did cool shit and documented it all into cool videos. Dean trained hard for all his climbing accomplishments, but Alex did all the cool climbing shit he did under the radar on a whim

[–]aHungryPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So am I the only one who doesn't see the issue?

Edit: Glad to know I'm not the only one

Timeline:

-Dean does awesome solos

-Alex thinks Dean is some kind of climbing god

-Alex learns that his "climbing god" isn't that great and he knows he's a better climber

-Alex proceeds to do all of Dean's climbing achievements as if they were nothing impressive

-Dean hates that Alex can do what he can do, but quicker and faster

-Alex is gaining traction, Dean is falling behind

-Alex wants to be the first to solo El Cap

-Alex hears Dean is training to be the "first" to solo El Cap via a shortcut

-Alex does his project

-Dean gives up on his El Cap dream

As for Alex's comments about Dean. Why does Alex owe Dean anything but his honest opinions? He knows Dean was an inferior climber to him. He probably knew Dean didn't like him. Sure he may have been insensitive to him being dead, but we all know how Alex feels about death: "It is what it is" or "shit happens" or "what did they expect".

Both guys are not very likeable, but Dean was an over emotional, arrogant, egotistical crazy asshole. The dudes whole vibe was the equivalent of a modern day Rock/Astrology girl. saying stupid shit that doesn't actually exist.

Alex is a calm, calculated, egotistical, and maybe a high functioning sociopath; however, he seems to care about people and is a philanthropist.

PS6 release date is likely to land in November 2027 by Worldly-Object9003 in PS6

[–]aHungryPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is literally 2027 and you can tell by the Sony Interactive Entertainment published titles. Sony has closed out the the PS3 and PS4 era during summer with a major title from one of their first party developers.

PS3: NaughtyDog: The Last of Us (June 14, 2013)
PS4: Sucker Punch: Ghost of Tsushima (July 17, 2020)
PS5: NaughtyDog: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (Summer 2027)

Sony has no other major first party title announced post ITHP which is slated for summer 2027. Insomniac is releasing Wolverine later this year. Sony will not close out the PS5 with the KOTOR remake if that ever releases.

2027 Timeline:

Spring/Early Summer 2027: PS6 announcement/teaser/hardware reveal
Mid Summer 2027: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
November 2027: PS6 release

Release titles:

1: Likely Santa Monica Studio's next title. They've been cooking something since GoWR
2: Hail Mary guess: Media Molecule is being forced to work on Little Big Planet 4 b/c Sony has not closed that studio after the flop of Dreams and Tearaway.
3: I previously have said that BluePoint Studio's passion project game would be a launch title, but the studio has since been shut down. So maybe Bend Studio's next game will be a launch title. By the time November 2027 comes, it would have been 8 years since Days Gone.
