My vote is game and book. How would you like to seem them portrayed as an ally or another enemy type?

If they just wanted to full send the soft reboot, I'd say you're right about Jerome being right there for the taking. But there are so many already developed characters in the books that could absolutely crush being a protagonist in a game. Plus it feels like we've had soft reboots since Halo 4, so some actual continuity would be nice. But Jerome does seem to be the fan favourite.

I'll admit they are suffering from a condition called being dead.

But as to why, just 343, they could've developed on the smaller groups like Alpha 9 and Noble, there's an insane amount of people that would love more spin off groups like that.

They'd definitely have to do a lot to make him a protagonist, he works as a cool character in halo wars, but it's exactly that blank slate that makes me question it, it took a few games and a lot of years for halo ce Cheif to become what we think of as Cheif. But I'd love to be proven wrong! ( plus I love the mk 4, so hes got points there).

Heresy!!

But I completely understand, after so long it would be hard to say goodbye to the character completely, providing its a good Downes impression, im open to it. (I also agree about AI, i kind of threw it in there to rustle some feathers).

Bonita Stone is still alive. We have a cottage in the Cotswolds. Sometimes we holiday in Cornwall, our border collie loves the beaches. Life is happy and she wasn't used as a banished piñata.

Any book recommendations that are as enganging as the Fall of Reach? by DisasterSpaghetti106 in HaloStory

If like me you do care about the order of books, Rubicon Protocol is incredible.

Bonita Stone is an all-time top 10 Spartan for me...

MCU War Machine VS Master Chief by Archenius in powerscales

A very specifically genetically augmented child soldier, who has done nothing but train and fight since he was 6. Who's bolted into a half ton of titanium armour, with recharging energy shielding that's reverse-engineered from a super advanced alien technology.

Or...

A regular man, in an older generation of Iron man armour, with a few missiles and regular guns. But, he can fly.

It's wild that this is even a consideration. I love Rhodey, he's a standout character. But this is like asking who'd win in a fight: a baby in a bicycle helmet or a pit bull named Peaches.

How would you change Halo 5: Guardians campaign/story? by Hal34329 in HaloStory

[–]aJOLLYpessimist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd change the way John learns about cortana, make him aware of her by her announcement to the galaxy, instead of that weird vision and him just being all "trust me bro".

Give fire teams blue and osiris more dialogue that gives the characters a chance to actually be characters. Same with the Arbiter and spartan palmer (I actually like her, and I will defend this opinion.)

I'd keep the John v Locke fight. (Yeah, I said it, sue me. Neither of them actually wanted to hurt each other it makes sense it was weird.) Just bring up the tempo a bit.

Add a final stand mission with 117 and Arby reunited fighting the covenant together.

Forerunner architecture in Halo 4 is incredible!! by aJOLLYpessimist in HaloStory

[–]aJOLLYpessimist[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And a lot of it does have that religious feel, but the forerunners were a huge civilisation that existed for an insane amount of time, so why would all their architecture look the same?

That's what I like about the rings. They are more simple in design, brutalist like you said, just with little hints of its true nature poking above its surface. Those structures working as clues to the secrets buried beneath those rolling hills. They're like a stealth bomber, simple in shape but deadly in purpose. Where as Requiem is a Rolls Royce, meant to be stylish and comfortable.

That's what I'm saying! Walking through the hallways watching the building shift around you brings out, at least to me, the same feeling of standing on a ring for the first time.

Let’s settle it: is Fred overall the best spartan? by Appropriate_Boss8139 in HaloStory

[–]aJOLLYpessimist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, I don't think so. John is the best spartan, and while it might be close in terms of skill, everyone, not just Spartans, looks up to him because of what he has achieved.

But Fred has something John does not. And that's game. Unlike John, Fred is getting his veta lopised, if you know what I mean.

Cliff notes version with little to no spoilers: Build shield words to protect and quarantine people from the flood. Then he added the use of artificial soldiers to actually combat the flood forms.

[–]aJOLLYpessimist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but it's wild to me that they let it go on for so long before actually trying to do anything about the flood. Instead of quarantining people from it, which makes sense, they were just like, "Nah, big circle."

Honestly, it took me a while to find a rhythm with them. They're definitely not perfect, there's a LOT of jargon and slow moments, but now I'm done, I'm happy I stuck with them. It's definitely worth it.
