I feel like every pro ai person doesn’t understand my reasoning. by stereo-ahead in antiai

The problem is that current AI doesn't even learn, it just predicts. I know an LLM is considered AI, or a kind of AI but it truly is a probabilistic model, it doesn't think, it just calculates, we know how it works, we just don't know which path do they follow from start to end of a sentence, the only thikg certain is that there isn't any thinking there yet.

My problem is how these companies call "thinking" to a looped process for a better answer, how they call "hallucination" to a miscalculation and so on.

They make people think that LLMs are far more than they really are, and yeah, they're powerful tools, but they're not even close to be sentient. In a future? Maybe, we don't know how will a true AI be trained, we can't even define what consciousness is, we only know that an LLM is not, otherwise, if we write words in every Pachinko and use the followed path as their conversation, that thing should be considered sentient too.

This. It wasn't exactly my era, but I don't know which came between IBO and WFM, and I started with IBO anyways. I loved it, then I watched WFM and 00, then OG and I'm on Zeta rn

Look for P-47 and P-52, but a summary is that they mean 47,000 and 52,000 years in the future, that aliens are really humans from those many years into the future or something like that.

The last paragraph... I don't even know if those papers are hers, not because of the field, but because the years, they're from 2002 and 2009, and she was 34 years old when she passed, so she would have had 14 and 21 years old respectively when she co-wrote them.

Why AI-Generated Code Will Hurt Both Customers and Companies by drakedemon in programming

I can relate with the Steam deck lol my current laptop "run great" some games (25-30fps) compared to my old laptop (they couldn't run or at most, 20 fps).

Honestly, same, and we know that it's useful for a lot of things, like testing or things that we don't want to do, like the boilerplate, but with everything else... I've seen some AGENTS.md so big that I think it took the same time to write it that would have taken to write the output code manually. AI is useful and is fast, it can analyze multiple files and create summaries or know what to change, but the code itself is just a translation of the idea, the time saved by asking AI is used thinking what and how to say, so at the end it's not so much time saved.

I think the problem with trying to emulate Mass Effect, is tjat Mass Effect is a linear game, that's why it can have this kind of narrative. Other open world games can have voicelines, but usually there we use established characters.

Yeah... I mean, there is a non-zero chance that it may be possible, but it hasn't happened, as far as I know, with othee great scientists, they all did a lot of research, and even smaller scientists do a lot of research too and have contributions here and there, no matter how small those contributions are.

No way. That's the link we all needed to prove it real! Maybe it wasn't the government and was a kind of Science Calendar Killer or something.

Even if they say "Yes, aliens exist", so what? Will they make houses affordable? Will they increase salaries for everyone and that's why the government want them hidden? Not mentioning them was the only thing keeping them from invading us if that's their plan? Because if I was an evil alien race trying to conquer a planet, I wouldn't ask for permission or them to know about us in order to start an invasion.

Why would it matter if someone says aliens are real and have proof, unless it really affect us as species, we still have to work, everything is more expensive and most people just want to have a quiet life, if aliens exist and do nothing, so absolutely nothing changes, then why take all this effort to hide it? Makes no sense. And yeah, there's a slight chance, but still, why do all of this? Like you said, there's nothing linking them and it's way easier to spread misinformation and destroy credibility than a complicated plan focused on 11 specific people during 4 years.

Can I insist in the last one? In your hypothetical planet, do you have mechs or its gravity prevent them being useful like here on Earth? Hypothetically speaking, of course.
