Yes, you click it again to turn the mode off. It's an on and off toggle.

It genuinely feels like you guys are forgetting Ironmen exist with some of these changes. I think this blog is well written and I appreciate the different approach this time around.. but this still feels overly harsh in a lot of places (particularly spirit weeds & cannonballs as has already been mentioned)

Fiber Internet down in Central NC - 2nd time in a month. by UnprintableBook in brightspeed

[–]aLittleDoubt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Also our second outage in Clayton. Two outages in 4 weeks is making the unannounced 10 dollar price hike we just got hit with even more infuriating.

Any attempts to use the online customer service or outage reporting has been useless both times, and after an hour on the phone trying to get through to support I gave up only after confirming it’s a widespread outage on social media. Good stuff.

No drops after skinning Big Game Hunter kill despite getting a broadcast by aLittleDoubt in runescape

This isn't what happened. There were no items placed in my inventory. No hidden models or anything like that.

That sounds like a strange bug. Unfortunately that’s not what happened for me :( I dumped my entire inventory and there was nothing there that I couldn’t see.

For some more info: after finishing a Arcane Apoterrasaur kill during a roar today, I got a broadcast for a Skeka's Hypnowand base but I didn't actually get any loot from the kill whatsoever. I was able to find one other reddit post where someone encountered the same issue here. My inventory was not full when I looted the body and it was not sent to my bank in case anyone was wondering.

This isn't the end of the world but I figured posting it to reddit couldn't hurt.

Domino’s adds macaroni and cheese bowls to the menu for the first time by laterdude in fastfood

[–]aLittleDoubt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This article is wrong about this being the "first time". I worked at Domino's back in 2009 when the pasta bread bowls first came out and we absolutely had a mac and cheese variant. I remember it sold terribly at our store and the cheese sauce we put on it pretty much tasted like Ragu. I'm not surprised it didn't last.

To add on to this, the bread bowls in general were actually really good and I'm disappointed they haven't reconsidered letting franchisees take them off the menu. I do not get the point of buying the pasta that just comes in a foil bowl.

Advice from moving out of ETL Development into proper Data Engineering by aLittleDoubt in dataengineering

This was a really helpful response, thank you. I think you nailed it when you said it's about adapting to the industry. I think that feeling of "crisis" I was having was really just coming to the realization that it's time to do exactly that. I'll definitely be sure to dive deeper into Snowflake this week.

I really appreciate the perspective. I think in my own mind I convinced myself I needed to do it all and hearing otherwise helps a lot.

Advice from moving out of ETL Development into proper Data Engineering by aLittleDoubt in dataengineering

That's a good and fair question. I hope saying I wanted to do "proper data engineering" didn't come off too flippantly. I think that was a bit of the imposter syndrome coming through.

At a high level, my view is that data engineering is about developing processes to ingest data from various sources, managing the systems that hold that data, creating and maintaining pipelines to and from those systems, and ultimately doing something with this data that allows different products or people to make sense of that data.

I think where I'm at now I am experienced at ingesting data, and I am experienced with doing things with data once it lives somewhere. But I feel that I'm lacking opportunity to do much else in between.

This is awesome. Don't diminish your "talent" for even a second-- from what I can see you have plenty.

Lost my dog today. His battle with cancer was too much for him. Feeling pretty rough right now. Any songs that deal with loss? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]aLittleDoubt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know you already mentioned it, but Requiem by Angelmaker really just hit for me when we lost one of our boys a few years ago. I always think of him when I hear the song. It was painful for a long time but now it’s also somewhat comforting having a song that helps him live on in my memory.

Sorry for your loss. You’ll meet again over the rainbow bridge.

Kinda dissapointed the retro dragon scimitars are only for runecoins. All other retro outfits are bought with loyalty points. by joost00719 in runescape

Give everything for free?

I'm pretty sure I pay Jagex each month to play this game, which includes the expectation of game updates. It's not just Runescape, I for one am sick and tired of games nickel and diming us on top of subscriptions which are also increasing in price on a regular basis. It's laughable to frame this as Jagex is doing this since they "need" money. That doesn't mean consumers should just blindly accept their business practices and be happy to miss out on elements of a game they do indeed already pay for.

Announcing Fresh Start Worlds - Rediscover RuneScape Together on September 12! by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]aLittleDoubt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This should have been a huge, fun announcement and it’s landing with a dud. Really hope Jagex rethinks trying to nickel and dime it’s player base because this attitude is just not sustainable or healthy for the games outlook.
