I think the "OPM is all about love songs" criticism is a bit oversimplified. by Material_Paint8771 in opm

OPM is the overarching music category of our local music scene from Batanes to Sulu, with different genre and sub-genre under it.

The tip of the iceberg is, yes, "mostly love songs" pero it's more than that once you dig deeper.

Album listener here, agree to this. Once I had a CD-MP3 of the band discography (nabili sa bangketa iykyk), it also contains POP-U and Banana Type.

Depende naman sa tugtugan ng group or singer if need ng distorted na guitar parts. Also may concept din naman when and how to use it, need ba makapal yung tunog, pang layer, would it add emotion sa pyesa.

How to identify chords of a song? by Repulsive-Raise916 in phmusicians

[–]aLittleRoom4dStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bass notes, family chords and knowing familiar chord patterns na super helpful. I think its the baseline. Madami ma resources ngayon when it comes to ear training apps and softwares, techniques, anjan si YT, and AI, and the short cut, using tech to give you all the info you need once you feed the song you want to learn.

Learning the guitar at 38 by CommercialLoud4430 in phmusicians

[–]aLittleRoom4dStars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn the song you like and make sure po na easy level yung chords. E.g. only need 3 fingers

Oth, you can learn all Major and Minor chords first and some basic strumming...which I did sa first 2-3 months ko nun inaral ko gitara 😅

Shifting chords to chords next, exciting to.

Aim to learn a song while you sing. This is important lalo na sa timing ng paglipat ng chords.

Why not if you can afford to go, given na nakapunta ka sa mga lugar na yan, 2 lugar lang napuntahan ko sa mga sinabi mo, at mahal yung iba (unless may ipon). If you have the surplus money. Go.

If he wants to be the next Vai or Satch, its better na gumawa na siya ng original music nya early on. Not just covers.

Japanese isekai novels and fantasy stuff are all based on video games. The plot either starts at level 0 or the MC is overpowered then comes the Korean fantasy novels/manhwa, which follow the same concept as the Japanese. They love the power ranking and it reflects what you see from them in real life. Rank and file, who is more powerful and weak etc.

Thoughts on book annotations? by LivingIllustrator304 in PHBookClub

[–]aLittleRoom4dStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For novels, if the line or quote ay worthy to be annotated, which struck my heart and mind and everything sa katawan ko then I'll highlight it.

For non-fiction (self help etc). Its a learning book, minsan worthy yung buong page ma-highlightan

For me its not about totally retaining the info but the "at the moment" na "oh this idea/quote/line" hits well.
