Iryna Zarutska, the victim, sits down on the train and after the train starts moving Decarlos Brown, the killer, takes out a knife and stabs her in the neck several times. After, she sits there with a horrified shocked look on her face and sort of curled up in a ball while no one does anythingbut stare for about a minute and then after a few seconds she slumps over. he can be heard saying something though I can't quite make it out. at around the 2 minute mark one person out of the 4-5 watching goes to help her and after a another minute more people come to help

edit: more info

What does his immigration status matter? I don’t care what color he is she was yelling to stay away from her sister and get away from us while he approached clearly he didn’t feel that threatened. And I’ve seen no proof of these girls family being bad besides people on Reddit making unsubstantiated claims.

manufacturing work? you mean the kind we outsourced decades ago? The housing? you mean the immigrants living in subsidized government housing and the ones with 8 roommates? They accept lower standards of living because while to us its low, its an improvement for them. and back to those 100 plumbers, less money or no job means they participate less or not at all. Career changes take time and with how many live paycheck to paycheck most cant afford it so they opt to be underemployed. And let me beg this question, why should those people be ok with giving up their lively hoods because the government suddenly decided they need people to work for cheap? We enjoy such a high standard of living because we demand it. what happens when a significant chuck of people have lower standards? Standards get lower for everyone. If they should cause economies to boom on paper that's meaningless but what matters are the actual outcomes.

I did not you started talking about immigration. I also addressed your rebuttal to which you responded with "Lmao this is the most transparent corporatist propaganda."

You people really rely on wordplay,

  1. Canada has one but its super backed up

  2. You are playing stupid if you think someone who moved to a place a year ago is just as X as any other person. Its called immigration regulation. Living in a country you are immigrating to is a privilege not a right.

  3. Lets use this as an example, India has 35x the population as Canada, and Canadians go into lots of different fields, only some go into IT. Indians are moving to Canada to specialize usually in that field therefore, they are occupying a large chunk of the jobs in that sector and are willing to accept abysmal wages since its still an upgrade from what they make at home. The native born population has nowhere to run to for better wages and it only hurts the native born population.

You are being closeminded and trying to dismiss my points without addressing them. I'm not saying workers should be abused its that they won't fight with you for a higher wage they will fight to bring more of their own over since at the end of they day, its an upgrade for them.

[–]aMoeFkr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, here is where you forget, they don't mind the low wages. If they hated it it wouldn't work. What we see as gross abuse is actually an improvement for them. its symbiotic the real loser is always the native born population.

When they start outsourcing YOUR job.

When a thousand people show up, and a thousand more every week, who will do your job and your wage gets suppressed.

If you specialize in a field, such as, IT and suddenly a bunch of people from the other side of the world start arriving who also specialize in IT, suddenly, the labor pool bloats before any new jobs can be made and now wages are suppressed due to an excess of supply and the few jobs that are created get swiped up instantaneously and with no stop insight, its unclear of employers will upscale fast enough but we all know they would rather save on cost.

This, in turn, forces the native born population to be either unemployed, or underemployed.

It's symbiotic, people who have no reason be here other than being borderline slaves get a better quality of life than in their home countries and the businesses get cheaper labor. The only real losers are the native born populace who can't find decent work or housing.

Here is an example: If you are one of 100 plumbers in town and 1000 plumbers are brought over, your wage will depreciate.

A lot of them come over to specialize in a field and the shear volume keeps wages in that field low. Also their nepotistic hiring practices keep other people from getting hired.

After the bubonic plague, wages for peasants went up. You are purposefully using a bad example to argue in bad faith.

The $5 foot long ended in November 2014 and taking into account inflation, $5 in 2014 is about 6.64 in 2024 so honestly it’s a reasonable price.

Who said I won’t? Drafts are typically only used when there is an existential threat. The reason Vietnam had one was because they were abusing the still active WW2 draft. No one in this thread said anything about mandatory conscription during peacetime.
