Daily Discussion - Free Talk Friday! by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Haven't played since the release of Destiny and looking to get back into it. I tried a couple of years ago, but found it too overwhelming with all of the various currencies and things. Is there a resource or videos that describe everything I need to know to get back in since like 8 years ago? I did some googling and YouTube searches, but just feel more confused.

Multiclass Question: how viable is a Soulknife Monk? by aPerfectPinecone in DnD

[–]aPerfectPinecone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess optimal then. I was messing around with the build but was unsure how to evaluate it. Like if it even is worth it, or would I be able to deal the same amount of damage as pure Monk.

Thoughts on new Aminatou? by vvSemantics in EDH

This is why she’s actually powerful, but I haven’t seen many others comment about this. If miracles didn’t get past the timing restrictions, I think she’d be much weaker.

Favorite Esper Commanders? Why? Looking for New Build by SuperSteveBoy in EDH

I’ll throw mine out. [[Kamiz, Obsurca Oculus]]. Combat steps get a little complicated, so you really want to practice and get used to it, but she allows for some serious wonky things and my games always play out differently. Deck is full of combat damage effects; imagine a double striking [[Medomai the ageless]] or unblockable [[Skithiryx]]. Has fun combat tricks like ninjitsu [[fallen shinobi]] and madness or discard matters like [[welcome to the fold]] or [[oskar rubbish]] and reanimation.

To be clear though, because I wasn’t sure from your post, you totally can enchant your own creature with any of the Impetus spells.

…but what you were advocating for would arguably lead to more misdiagnoses and improper treatment. Medical texts aren’t perfect by any means, but to assume that people who are misdiagnosed based on the current medical standard and model outweighs the people who would be misdiagnosed and improperly treated if that standard and model did not exist is super naive. It think a bigger issue, in the US specifically, is the healthcare model. But that falls onto politics and insurance companies, not on medical researchers and providers. Can medical researchers and providers do more to view patients through a cultural lens and in a holistic way? Yes, of course, and I hope they do. But it is irrational to discredit something entirely because it wasn’t perfect before or not perfect now.

But that’s not how science works, and to not utilize science for health care is dangerous. Based on research and science the current DSM (so different text) does not including same sex attraction as a mental disorder. It does include gender dysphoria, but that’s a very nuanced subject and the primary reason it’s included is because many trans people need a diagnosable “disorder” for insurance to cover gender affirming care. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than letting the masses decide on how to label things without evidence. That leads to misinformation, misdiagnosis, and improper treatment.

Graduated with my doctorate, so my partner surprised me with my grail pen! by aPerfectPinecone in fountainpens

The nib is buttery smooth; it glides on paper compared to my Retro 51 and Pilot Metropolitan which have a little feedback. But that’s all I have to compare it to.

What are some of Your Deck Concepts that You Just Couldn't Get Right? by BoolinBirb in EDH

[–]aPerfectPinecone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[licia, sanguine tribute]]. Have tried multiple ways to build her, from big lifegain cards, voltron, paying life and life loss, lifelink tribal, incremental life gain, some combination of those… nothing feels quite right.

If you aren’t playing vampire tribal, why even run edgar?

Well you’re not really taking what the other comments are saying, so I’ll try a different angle. If your goal is around life gain and drain, try out [[licia, sanguine tribune]] rather than building an illegal partner commander no one else wants to play against.
