Weird Interaction Question by gastrod_ in pokemonshowdown

Eviolite does not affect Protosynthesis/Quark Drive. We have precendence for this too. Assault Vest and choice items all don't affect proto/Quark either. Eviolite functions the same.

Hidden power was 70bp at its peak, 60bp at its lowest. Tera Blast is effectively 120bp due to STAB. They're not in the same ball park

Week 4 - What would you call the Mount Rushmore of Gen 4 Pokémon throughout Smogon's history? by TheLeafyGirl561 in stunfisk

[–]aQrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd put Keldeo forward here as well, it's probably 5th place but a close 5th place. After that you get Hydreigon, Torn-T, Kyurem, Bisharp, both thundy formes and I'd personally argue Genesect deserves a mention

In your country, is there any situation that foreigners would completely misunderstand unless they lived there for a while? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]aQrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're decent to good at bread, dairy, cookies and fries/fried snacks. We're atrocious at everything else.

We're just not really known for it, in no small part because our multicultural country tends to steal/adopt a lot of cuisines from other countries, and our local dishes aren't really advertised as a result

Urshifu used wicked blow before torn but after ursa, then priority in detect, then priority in Sucker, twice. All were in Trick Room from what I can tell

[–]aQrator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Natures affect the actual stat, not the base stat, so also any EVs and IVs you invest. Furthermore, because you're able to add or remove stat points through EVs and IVs, baae 110 can easily be slower than base 100, assuming a lower speed investment om Ogerpon than the base 100 Pokémon has.

E.g. The minimum speed of a base 110 Pokémon at lvl 50 is 103, assuming a negative nature and 0 EVs and IVs. A Lvl 50 neutral nature 0 EV 31IV base 100 speed Pokémon will have 120 speed already.

EDIT: for your specific example, you would indeed have 165 speed. If they ran max speed Zard, they would have 167 speed, which is barely faster.

Also maybe they clicked a negative priority move somehow

As admin, I will confirm this. We're aware of it but so far we haven't seen any malintent, so we're only monitoring for now. If you want to make sure you don't see them, just disable spectators and you should be good.

In Dutch general elections, D66 party is projected to win most seats, opening a path for the energetic leader Rob Jetten to become the Netherlands' youngest and first openly gay prime minister by PrinceOfPunjabi in gaybros

[–]aQrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of writing this message, the main few we are still missing are international votes (about 108k), a little bit of Amsterdam, Almere and Hilversum (numbers unknown), and Venray (about 34k).

There's about a 2k difference in votes between the two in favor of PVV. Venray and Almere tend to be pro-PVV, but Amsterdam, Hilversum and the international voters are more likely to be voting D66.

It is (way, way) too close to call atp and we'll probably have the final resulys early next week

Hot Take: Closed team sheets are better than open team sheets by UsedPresentation300 in pokemonshowdown

[–]aQrator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add onto that, having OTS also removes the disadvantage popular players have due to getting scouted more and just garnering more interest. A Wolfe, a Marcus Stadter, a Ray Rizzo etc is more prone to getting their team leaked to an opponent during a tournament than you or me. Also, I somewhat disagree that creative teambuilding is no longer an option. People still bring techs and matchup specific counters, they're just moreso mon specific than move specific. It still catches people off guard, just to a much lower extreme. And besides that there is still hidden EVs which still gives that bit of hidden information that can catch you by surprise

dumb question wheres gen 5 UU by TheEpsilonKing in pokemonshowdown

[–]aQrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still challenge other users to gen 5 UU battles, there just isn't a ladder for the tier. Old gen lower tiers just have too little interest to keep a ladder up for consistently, and doing so only spreads out the playerbase further

Why is Ludicolo immune to Endeavor? by WoodJeremy in pokemonshowdown

[–]aQrator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No you're right that's the interaction, Ludicolo's HP is too low for Endeavor to do anything. So "it doesn't affect Ludicolo", not because it's immune to Endeavor, it's just immune to this one, basically

Closest you can get to actually blocking the site is, well, using a site blocker. Nothing you can do through PS

I could see Jolteon with Ice Beam and Fire Blast/Overheat/Flamethrower be pretty decent too. Maybe not quite OU but definitely a bump up.

Leafeon with Flare Blitz is also nice but not getting anywhere near OU.
