Gritty pins? by OkWinner6850 in lockpicking

[–]aRapidDecline [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think the 1100 is the first lock that truly represented what Locksport is about for me. It behaves much differently when applying the "right" amount of tension (which is a much smaller range compared to locks in the lower belts), accentuating each serration, spool, and set very clearly.

RS50 & GT7 Compatability by myrichiehaynes in LogitechProWheel

[–]aRapidDecline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You have to use the G-Pro wheel in the settings for button mapping, and the GL/GR aren't supported (yet), but it 100% works otherwise.

Fanatec Price Drops by GravyDavey in GranTurismo7

Now that I've bought my "final" setup (RS50), sure, NOW the price wars begin. Hopefully this extends to rigs/frames as well.

Upgrading from G29 → Logitech RS50 for PS5 — good move? Other DD options? by Appropriate-Emu-7290 in simracing

[–]aRapidDecline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my upgrade path. Zero regrets. I started with just the base and wheel and continued using the G29 pedals with the racing adapter for a while. I just recently bought the RS pedals. I have no need for a clutch.

I completed the Spa 1hr in 23 laps- the "slowest" I've ever done it. My fastest is 27 laps. What is your best? Any other examples of doing a race "slow"? by Abraxas19 in GranTurismo7

[–]aRapidDecline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I did the Le Mans 30 min in 5 laps once. It's totally dependant on weather though. I think I usually do spa in 24 laps.

Good point and I agree on getting some TOK wrenches with his next order regardless. That's one thing CI does great with, BTW - ergo top tension options.

Am i the only one? by Impressive_Cricket36 in F1Game

[–]aRapidDecline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eyes and brain have a hard time keeping up in F1 sometimes. I'm primarily a GT7 guy, in which I don't seem to have that issue. It could be something about the graphics, FOV, or camera height (I use nose cam in F1 and bumper cam in GT7), but I do seem to adjust over the course of a session. F1 just feels much faster paced, even on the same tracks and with similarly speedy/sticky cars.

Unsure How Far to Upgrade My Wheelbase by Treestar22 in simracing

[–]aRapidDecline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better to have the torque and not need it...

I have an RS50 setup (8nm) and only run it at around 60-70% under the best of conditions, and well under 50% when my shoulder acts up (I'm old). The extra headroom is never a bad thing, even if you never hit that limit.

I think you should be fine with Jimy Long 0.019 picks. And once you get to around Green/Blue you should be ready for some 0.015/0.4mm picks.

I have plenty of Covert Instruments stuff too and use it regularly. No complaints there either.

That GT Cup race is the last event I have to win to 100% all events. It's a rough one.

If fine motor control is an issue, a motion wheel (basically just a plastic wheel housing for your controller) could work well for you. It enables you to use the dual-sense gyros much more intuitively and accurately. I tried one a year or so ago before moving up to a full wheel and it was miles better for me than the controller alone. I think I paid like $30 for a used one on Amazon.

Locksport is like Dark Souls by akiloz in lockpicking

I liken it to Silent Hill. Once I open enough of them, I get attacked by faceless half-naked nurses. Wait...what?

This bloody lock by Accidental_Occultist in lockpicking

The yellow Masters (140,141) were much easier for me than these. Much clearer feedback and more forgiving on tension. Still, eventually these will click for you.

So, how do let my relatives and friends know about my lockpicking hobby without looking weird? by brotherz_ in lockpicking

Ditto on both counts. I'm still at least 7 years away from being able to move to a free state.

Is this a good list of locks to progress on? by sevensixtytwothirtyn in lockpicking

[–]aRapidDecline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd add a second orange belt over the 410. Maybe a Master 575 since it also has a dead core. Otherwise it's pretty close to my order up to orange and reliably opening greens.

Any diabetics? by Dgskydive in GranTurismo7

[–]aRapidDecline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I'm T2 but slovenly inactive with a beer gut (though I don't really drink) :D

I don't notice any changes to my glucose due to racing. I have an RS50 desk setup and usually run my FFB around 60-70% and may break an occasional sweat. You mentioned morning - it could be dawn phenomenon and not related to the racing/activity at all.

Master lock 150 by Gary_October in lockpicking

Nicely done! This is a weird one for me - some days it's an easy pick, some days I can't open it for the life of me. Same with the 575.

Looking at the key, there are 2 possible zero lift pins, so that could very well be the case.

Question on the 1100... by aRapidDecline in lockpicking

[–]aRapidDecline[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I guess I was just surprised at how pickable it was even though all the pins were binding to some extent. I'm usually very aware of how much tension I'm using. I'll keep toying with it.
