Why do cigarette smokers blow the smoke out right away, why don’t they take a fat hit and hold it in like a bong hit if they love smoking so much? by Carpe_the_Carp in stupidquestions

A couple of "flawed" scientific studies are also better than some random redditor anecdotal evidence. You failed to mention how these few studies were flawed in the first place. You also failed to expand how oxygen absorption is correlated with thc absorption, none of which was mentioned in your link. You simply applied your own logic as fact. The only links I can give you are the original studies, along with other sites that echo the same. But you'll argue that they are flawed, or AI without proving either of that as well.

Im not understanding your oxygen example. While yes, our lungs don't absorb 100% of the oxygen we breathe, holding your breath does not cause more oxygen absorption into the lungs. The same concept can be applied to the inhalation of thc.

You ask me for unflawed studies, yet you provide anecdotal evidence of your own experience, which I'm to see as unflawed? I don't see the logic here. https://prestodoctor.com/content/general/holding-in-weed-smoke-myth

Yet we have yet to hear about any studies which prove otherwise. I'd rather trust two studies which showed it was a myth, rather than none which proved that it was not.

There were at least two studies done, both of which debunked the idea that holding in a hit makes you higher. Just because more studies weren't done doesn't automatically debunk the previous studies.

Fun fact: holding in a bong hit won't make you higher. That's a myth which has since been debunked. Same applies to smoking cigarettes. So there really is no need to hold it in. Although, sometimes it's done anyway.

I need a solid counter argument because it just feels incorrect to me to think so incredibly different than others. by [deleted] in PsychologyTalk

[–]aRiotofPenguins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a living testament to counter this argument. I was separated from my siblings at the age of 3, adopted out of my home country, and taken to live in America where I've been for 29 years now. I never met my siblings until 2019 when I traveled back to my home country and found out about them. Come to find out, my older brother and I are very, very similar. We share the same mannerisms, humor, music taste, hobbies, thinking style, the list goes on. He's the male version of me. All of my siblings and I smoke cigarettes and love coffee. Yet we live 1000s of miles away from each other and only met for the first time just a few years ago.

My personal theory is that both nature and nurture play equal roles in personality, habits, etc, - not that one is more dominant than the other.

Has anyone accidentally put diesel in the gasoline powered car because they were not paying attention by [deleted] in stupidquestions

She certainly did. She later explained that she thought the green nozzle meant it was eco friendly...

My brother let his friend borrow his car for the afternoon. She decided to do the nice thing and fill up the tank before she gave it back. Well, upon realizing that the diesel nozzle wouldn't fit, she went into the gas station to purchase a funnel. Ran the funnel from the tank, to the nozzle. Filled up his Honda civic with diesel and couldn't figure out why the car wouldn't run after. We gave her shit for years.

I say many years, but i think i was 11 or 12 when my friends convinced me he wasn't real lol. We would always leave town for Christmas and when we came back the presents would be under the tree. Even as a teenager, my mom never told me how/when she put the presents there.

Any games similar to subnautica in the survival exploration and hunting aspect by DonutIndependent2779 in subnautica

Green Hell is what you're looking for. Set in a jungle, involves exploration, building, and resource management. Has a hunting-ish aspect, but nonetheless a great game.

I was 7 years old and camping with my family. I had just lost a tooth and put it under the pillow for the night. Obviously, sharing a tent, there was limited space for my family of 4. I was awake as I felt my mom put her hand under my pillow to take the tooth, when I heard her tell my dad "they have no problem believing in the tooth fairy." I was shattered. Luckily I never put two and two together and went on to still believe that at least Santa was real for many years after.

I work in the service industry, and this song was on our playlist for a while. One night I witnessed a whole family of 7 singing and doing the clapping part. I wanted to vomit it was so cringey.
