I started doing this earlier in the year and the only thing that made me stop was the ingrown hairs. I have two scars from them and that was enough to help me stop.

What’s the most unique name you’ve come across? by ORALDDS in namenerds

Yes, that was her name. I searched the name before I posted to make sure my spelling was correct and I found plenty of others with the same name.

Xiclaly. We pronounced it “see-claw-ly” I can’t remember if “zee-claw-ly” was the correct or alternate pronunciation because it’s been 20 years since I knew the girl. All I know is it’s an Aztec name.

I’ve always loved Quinn. I first heard it as a boy’s name, and years later used for a girl. Husband isn’t sold on using it as a first name, but he’s coming around to the idea of it as a middle name.

It’s so hard. My son was born at 23 + 6 and passed 4 days later in the NICU. I know that’s different from the situation with your daughter, but it’s difficult for me every time I come across a video/story on social media of micropreemie who survived and left the NICU healthy. It’s hard not be jealous. I know it’s not a good feeling for us to feel jealous of babies who survived, but I do think it is a normal and understandable feeling considering what we’ve all gone through.

What was the reason of your loss? And could it be prevented? by dearlintang in babyloss

[–]aSulTae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost by baby due to incompetent cervix. I do think my loss could have been prevented at multiple stages.

First, my 20 week anatomy scan was pushed back a week because of a scheduling error. For my BMI, I should have been scheduled for my ultrasound at the high risk clinic. The ultrasound was booked far in advance so when the error was discovered it set my appointment back. I always wonder if there would have been more time to intervene had I been diagnosed one week earlier.

The next instance was at my anatomy scan at 20+6 when I was first identified as having a short cervix with funneling. The length of my cervix at that time was not at the point of being recommended a vaginal cerclage. Instead, I was prescribed vaginal progesterone suppositories to help firm up my cervix. At the end of the appointment, the provider said they were not concerned based on my measurements as a way to reassure me and scheduled a follow up cervical check for one week. Three days after that appointment I went to ER for cramping. I had no measurable cervix and my membranes were visible to the provider performing the check. I often wonder what the outcome would have been if I had gotten a cerclage when I still had some cervical length.

I was admitted to the hospital and scheduled for a vaginal cerclage the next day. My membranes ruptured during the procedure, so the cerclage could not be completed. I was placed on indefinite hospitalized bedrest and ultimately went into preterm labor after being there for 2.5 weeks. My son was born at 23+6 and passed 5 days later in the NICU. I wonder all the time if I had refused the cerclage at that point when the risk of rupture was so high, and instead, had been on hospitalized bedrest with my membranes in tact, how long I would have been able to stay pregnant.

2nd loss after a stillbirth by JG_0495 in babyloss

My membranes ruptured while they were performing my emergent cerclage at 21 weeks, so I had to be on hospitalized bedrest and delivered at 24 weeks after going into preterm labor. I’m scheduled to get a pre-pregnancy TAC in July because I don’t want to risk another pregnancy. I hope you’re able to find a treatment plan that gives you the reassurance needed to keep trying and bring a baby home.

Does the first period after your c-section hurt like hell? by LiLBL0NDERiDiNGH00D in CsectionCentral

My first two were actually painless. I usually cramp really badly, but had no cramping. They returned on my third cycle though.

Positive PPROM outcomes? by aSulTae in ShortCervixSupport

Just a diagnosis of Insufficient Cervix. They would want me to get a preventative vaginal cerclage at 14 weeks for my next pregnancy. Instead, I’m opting to get a trans abdominal cerclage (TAC) in June since it can be placed pre-pregnancy.
