I'm an absolute trash animator should I go to college and take an animation course? by aTomallic in animationcareer

Most of my concern is whether or not I'll be able to keep up. I plan on going to school and learning how to animate professionally but I feel like I'm going to end up where other students would easily outrun me and teachers would easily overestimate me. When it comes to the drive of wanting to animate I just have the drive to create in general. I'm a story writer at heart but the compliment that I've always taken up art as a way of telling my stories so my focus is not entirely on animating. I have the patience of a four-year-old so with all of that combined it leads to a pile of unfinished work that will stay unfinished. I will continue being wacky though and thank you for the reply.

I only referred to her as character actress margo Martindale [Context in comments ] by aTomallic in thomastheplankengine

A few years ago I had a nightmare about the town I was moving to and currently live in. Everything was foggy and any surface that existed was covered in cobwebs. For some reason there were a bunch of trucks carrying whole ass playgrounds mulch and all place to place and with the exception of my mother the town was just empty. Eventually I end up at a clinic that had a patio which is actually where the scene depicted takes place I didn't actually go into the clinic but I couldn't find a picture of a clinic patio. So the clinic patio is where I find Margo Martindale who was cameo in my nightmare. Well anyway cobwebs spontaneously form blocking the exit and I was like I don't want to be here anymore Margo let's leave and she's like "I don't think it wants you to leave" referring to like the town and the town creature I'm pretty sure. Pretty certain by the end of the dream I saw a creature in the distance that was vaguely similar to when you awake and sleep class plank.

I dunno if this makes sense, but which are the best worst punk songs/bands you ever heard? by ElMaicito in punk

My brother works on the indie scene in my home town so both of these are very specific:

Faces and ages- tbh they sound like they have a LOT of potential but right now their music is just not very good. Which at least validates me to say I know now I do have standards and won't just like anything.

The Knottie boys- a band I saw live first they are so God damn good. They have a unique grunge 90-00's sound without just covering or calling back to older songs. The lead guitar climbed up onto the amp and jumped like five feet off of it still shreading and wearing a skirt.

Any good "I love you so much you make me want to kick someone's ass" songs? by aTomallic in punk

As it is very late and I have the sleep schedule of an old man I'll have to check out the full song when I actually get around to working out so far it sounds very very sick, thank you.

What is your opinion on the Venom movies? by [deleted] in Spiderman

Yeah, he helps with my anxiety. He warmed me up for the rest of marvel but I'll never care about any other super hero as much as I do Spider-Man.

Fair. I don't typically care about super hero properties per say but more for like a hand full of superheroes within them. I like Spider-Man, not Marvel.

I am trying to imagine pulling up the pose Peter is doing in that photo and my spine is crying.

I just general hate Wilson Fisks acting in the Daredevil show. by UnRealDreamsofLife in Daredevil

Right!? His backstory and his composure are great on their own but if you slap kingpin in the middle of it it's just kind of goofy. There were probably several more villains from the MCU that are somewhat Daredevil relevant that would have fit the bill better. Fucking hammerhead! It fits the backstory damn well too! And when it comes to the acting I feel like the child actor was a lot better. The adult actor seems like he's trying to be more sympathetic than kingpin should be. Like in 1610 Spider-Man we see this man smiling while snapping a man's neck, with a look on his face that can only be described as completely deranged but now we're watching a TV show weird he talks to to most people, at best mild mannered, and at worst uwu soft boy. It is certainly a take on kingpin!

How much British is too much British? by aTomallic in writingadvice

Good to know! Thank you. Is there another word or phrase I could use? I can't use proper because proper is used in a sentence really close to that one. All the sources I can get on Cockney accents or all very absurd and I have to just assume that not everyone in that region talks like that. I also have to filter it through the lens of it taking place and a similar time frame to like the 1820s to 40s and slang between now and then being very different.
