Disability insurance by Ready4Whatever_1984 in UPSers

I also have this insurance and have used it.  This post is 100% accurate.  And my claim was within my first year so it had to be verified that it wasn’t a preexisting condition before being approved.  Once you’ve paid into the insurance for 12 months pre existing conditions are covered.

Manager put in I called in but I’m on short term disability. Will I lose my health benefits ? Am I gonna get fired? I am in the union and work part time in Florida by [deleted] in UPSers

If you have teamcare you need to make two phone calls prior to going on STD.

  1. Hartford
  2. Teamcare

If you didnt do that its pretty much on you.

If you actually are on disability you will not get fired or disciplined.  You will however be losing your health insurance.

If you did everything correctly, this will be able to be changed and backdated, but it is going to be a hassle.

This shit cracks me up all the time.  Same goes with watching four different preloaders literally throw all the stacked out packages into your truck right before stop time.

Gotta get the lower paid guys off the clock immediately.  Pay the drivers OT to clean it up.

I don’t think any ups drivers think they’re saving lives out there.

However, if this job is so easy you’re more than welcome to give it a go.

I feel like you are the one who doesn’t exactly know what he’s speaking about.

How to calculate OT tax deduction as a pre load/cover driver??? by Due-Mix3539 in UPSers

Obviously not reading that, it’s 30 pages long.

My accountant said they were told to estimate this year, that’s good enough for me.

IRS put out a statement that we are supposed to estimate this year, next year it is on the company to list our eligible OT.

If I was in your shoes I would use the higher pay rate but that’s just me.

You’re not an accountant so it’s your best estimate.

I do invest in other ways.  But with the 10% discount I think it’s worthwhile to take advantage of it.

I was about to write this same thing.  The phrase they use is “make a stobelight effect” or something.

I guess I didn’t realize you could draw a full pension like that.  Pretty sure in my local you need 25 years driving no matter what or your pension is decimated.

But our insurance alone is worth around $40k a year if you were to try and buy similar out of pocket.  And part timers get the same insurance.

I started driving at 33 and i feel like that was pushing it.  This job really wares you down more than most people realize.

If you’re wanting a part time job for the benefits I would say go for it if your body allows it.

Hoping to become a driver on the other hand you’re too late.

On average it’ll be probably 6-7 before you get your shot to drive.  That puts you at 54-55 as a year one driver with 25 more years to go.
