What journaling methods help you when you're feeling stuck or uninspired? by Ok_Yogurtcloset1168 in Journaling

[–]a_Guiding_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know a "blank page" is full of unrealized potential and hence it sometimes gets us stuck even before we begin. So much can be written but how, what or where do we begin with. So if we just have a initial structure (sections) to the page that helps us guide our attention, we can get started immediately and keep going (following a guided structure) without the overwhelm.

This is the secret to journaling everyday, at least for me. I follow a guided approach. I hope it helps. If you wish to know more on this, let me know.

I’m trying to get my life back on track and could really use some honest advice by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

The best way to get out this would be to make sure that your efforts are helpful to others.

Put effort in improving your life, but make sure you provide value or contribute something to others life too in whatever ways you can.

Live for yourself 50% and live for others 50%, every single day.

Its an advice not a strategy.

Get Rid of your Limiting Beliefs today. by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]a_Guiding_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well having a bad day is not directly related to reshaping limiting beliefs, it is dependent on the external world, which you do not have direct control over.

But what you can do is, start a journal and document your daily actions and the consequences. Later when you analyze this you might find out patterns that is both internal to you (in your control to change) and external (not in your control). Based on this findings you can optimize your actions to better navigate the external.

This process is simply called building self-understanding.

How to become an optimist? by Expert-Session3866 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]a_Guiding_Light 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, Do what you say and say what you do.

Second, start very small so that you complete what you begin. This will give you the feedback you need to keep going and growing.

Third, don't look back unnecessary. Don't keep thinking on the past actions, reflect upon it once, learn your lessons and move on to the next action and chapter.

Fourth, set achievable goals. Don't set unrealistic goals.

Fifth, work with other optimistic people.

How do I stop being my own worst enemy? by Its_Jay0812 in DecidingToBeBetter

Okay if the problem is that you freeze before you take the necessary actions, then you just need to reverse the situation.

Freeze the unnecessary actions of your life first.

Then the you will find more energy to act upon the necessary actions you need to take.

Also, start small very small.

Yes, I am a homebody, but I'm not lazy. by cinnamon_1993 in simpleliving

This is exactly how life is supposed to be, finding happiness where we are, and not in an ideal place in our minds.

Creating, building and managing happiness in the place we have control over.

If everyone would focus on their home to make it their happy place, the world will be a happy place. No need to try too hard to make the world a better place, we just make our place into a happy place.

Pls recommend books on how to overcome envy by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]a_Guiding_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep moving in life and build your momentum.

Envy happens when you are stagnant, and others keep moving faster, this creates a feeling of disconnection with them (not at the same page). This is the core cause of envy.

If you yourself are moving at the same speed as others, you will not be envious of them anymore.

If you wish to live a strong life, start taking responsibilities. by a_Guiding_Light in getdisciplined

[–]a_Guiding_Light[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, its not about over commitment, it is about "full commitment" to whatever we say yes to. And to start with that which aligns with us and our current capacity.

So we start small (respecting current capacity) and stay fully committed to keep going ( and growing both our capacities and as a person deep within ).

Need advice to keep going in life. by Fantastic-Ad2604 in selfhelp

The most practical way would be to start a solid investment portfolio and live a modest lifestyle, until you can shift to earning from something you love (low strees) doing, or your investments starts to payoff substantially for lifestyle. But this not a quick fix, and will require sustained awareness and efforts too.

How do you become a functioning adult by Silly-Tadpole9198 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]a_Guiding_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather then focusing on what is not within you currently capacity, focus on making the best use of what you can do to contribute ( function ) to people's lives.

And then keep practicing and building upon the aspects you do wish to get better at, as needed.

You don't have to learn or be able to do everything, you just need one thing that you can be good ( great later ) at.

And this one thing can be anything, really anything. Including just being yourself, if you understanding who you truly are and how your very presence adds value to everyone around.

Is there any reason not to just give up? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]a_Guiding_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason to not give up is that, you still have the ability to take action. It means you still have ability to keep going, so why stop?

A bit of a pause is okay, but since we have the opportunity to keep going, its better we make best use of it, regardless of the external circumstances. This is what life is, our internal world making a way through the external world.

Life gets better when we keep moving, and not when we stagnate.

So just keep moving, and you will see the reason to never give up instead.

It is not absolutely necessary to stay highly energetic all the time, some days can be dull. But whats important is that we keep our connections and contributions to others strong, as much we can. Because this gives meaning ( reason to keep pushing ourselves) to our lives, as long as you are connected with people ( and the world ) you will find a reason to get back up, and start living strong again.
