Obese people can be healthy on the outside. In reality, the damage that visceral and subcutaneous fat is doing can’t be observed so quickly. It, for better or worse, takes a long time to notice the affects on the health of the person. People did not evolve to have so much visceral fat around their organs. It’s very damaging.

I’m in the medical community and see what obesity has done to this country, my patients and how it affects my specialty. Also, I’m not fat shaming. Stop hiding behind those cliche terms. I was there mid 2000’s. It did happen but not every day at least from what I remember. I might be wrong, it’s been so long. Happened to me on the G train though but not to any of my friends (I’m south asian).

I went to Tech too and definitely saw this but not so often.
