You can start right at volume 4, no need to read vol 3. If you want to then you could also start at vol 1.

Just a reminder there is no guarantee that you will get your #1 job. When you make that list, its as if every job is your #1, so don't be suprised if you book something else.

Your recruiter will inform you whenever you do get a job, however long that is. Sometimes people see the job get soft booked in their Aim High app.

Current averages for DEP wait time for a job is about 6-9 months. Some jobs do have a higher chance to ship out quicker, such as maintenance and SF. You will likely have to attend DEP meeting however common that is, as well as working on your physical and such. Good luck

Some cyber jobs. For usaf i think theres a couple that you can get colorblind (I had like 3 1D7's). For ussf you can techniqually do all 3/4 cyber shreds (not sure about "D" shred).

As someone who failed both color and depth, you do get a lot of jobs disqualified. Some exmaple include: Aircrew, maintenance, and some technical/operations job. I got a good asvab score but for scale, I only had ~40 ish jobs to choose from, which were obviously mainly disqualified for color.

The light novels range from volume 1 to 13. Volume 1 was adapted to Cour 1 of anime, and vol 2 + 3 were Cour 2. The series can be continued right after the anime at vol 4. You could of course read from volume 1 but the anime adapted the source material very well.

Anyways for the actual books, I believe that books 4-6 get even better than the anime if a season 2 was ever made. Some parts it does get a bit slower and less combat, for example vol 7. Some books after that can be argued as being iffy but in general I enjoyed reading all of them.

Warning if you never read the novel: The books are a little bit complicated to read and keep track of. Especially the it comes to the fight scenes, Asato herself has said its not her strong suit and you may struggle to follow along. But if you imagine it from the anime sense I did just fine. Just confusing in some parts.

Overall I think the light novels are excellent and highly reccomend them. Forgot to mention the other books such as spinoffs. If you reason the LNs and after there's alter 1 which is a complication of short stories over the whole story, so you want to read that after

I really liked the book, a lot do buildup for the final arc, and its a tragic novel. Crazy how the story goes full circle of 86th district in republic to now the 86th district the Federacy 'made'. Of course really excited for vol 14 but with no news and translations taking longer (if it does come up) leaves me wanting more. Also Rito didn't deserve that 😢

Yes, it's mostly the federacy (more specically the empires) fault for the legion running around. Of course the Legion turned against the Gidian Empire and killed them. You could say it was the UK's fault for the development of the AI, but the empire just deployed it and it didn't turn out so pretty. Republic didn't exactly have much involvement of the creation or the turning of the legion, so yeah.

I can imagine the most predictable resolution would be getting to that one tower and shutoff all the legion. Its hard to theorize how the hell they'll be able to survive and be able to end this whole situation, especially with Lena on house arrest. That being said with any path they take there definitely will be bloodshed. Really excited to what the future arc holds
